Celebrity Ink Chiang Mai — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

Update: I posted the review while still in the shop, she read the review and started yelling at me about it. Unbelievable. Five stars for Tore, he is a great artist and executed my tattoo just as I wanted! Unfortunately I can not recommend this shop to anyone due to the ladies at the front who are incredibly rude. The first was giving me attitude because I wanted to pay with paypal, which is a payment that is listed on their website on their FAQ as an accepted payment. She then told me very rudely they only accept cash or card. I brought up their website, which is on their Instagram page, and she said that wasn't for their shop, it only applied to Australian shops which is not listed or noted anywhere, very unprofessional, as was her attitude. The other lady at the time was still being nice. Until it came time to pay. I had my card out and before paying I had a question about the quote I recieved. She answered it and then said I could only pay by cash.....even though when I had gotten there the first rude lady had told me at least five times I could pay by cash OR card. She tried to say she wouldn't be able to send me the link and then rudely said she could try to send it. I recieved the link and quickly paid. She then called me moody and started yelling at me, I repeatedly asked her to stop yelling at me which she did not, soooo extremely unprofessional. I can't believe the way she acted towards me after I had just paid her money. Please stay away and go to any other shop, not worth being harassed...

So today I had a tattoo at celebrity ink Chiang Mai and my experience was very positive. I knew what design I wanted and over a few days I submitted several reference pictures in order to give the artist an idea of what I envisaged. I used email but Facebook and other social media works as well.

Cost. After my initial consultation I left a 1000 baht deposit. I don’t know if this is a standard deposit but it seems very fair to me. An artist will start work on my design and time is not free. I found the price to be a bit cheaper than the UK. Back home I pay £60 per hour. I won’t say what I paid here because each piece is unique but suffice to say I was happy at the quoted price. Cheap tattoos are no good and they last a lifetime so why scrimp?

On the day we made a couple of alterations to the design. The drawing was on an iPad and the artist made some alterations as requested by myself. Took about 45 minutes from me walking in to the needle touching skin.

Cleanliness. No complaints. Absolutely top class. You can tell they take this very seriously. I was very impressed.

Overall experience. I’m going back when I return to Chiang Mai. My artist was Deaw and he was superb. I want him again.

I would very much recommend Celebrity Ink. I’m so very pleased with the work they did for me. I had a 4 hour tattoo and I couldn’t be happier.

When I arrived I was greeted by Tuk Tuk, she took the time to really listen to what it I wanted, and made me feel welcomed she also advised me on the colours that suited my skin tone and what areas would get longer tattoo life, as I was thinking of getting a hand tattoo. From there with all the information we discussed, she assigned me an artist that specialises in the type of tattoo I was looking to get. At no point was I rushed, and I was encouraged to voice any concerns about the design so they can make changes.

My artist Dew was amazing, truly professional and so talented. The detail and precision from this guy…. Wow 🤩 I was on the table for 12 hours over 2 days and at any time I needed a break he was cool.

The culture here was SO SO good, we were invited and made feel so welcomed into their little family, So much so that whilst I was getting tattooed my wife got some work done. We were offered tattoo advice, food and drinks and cigarette. Llittle things like this made the experience so memorable and enjoyable. We left feeling that we had just made friends.
