Moody Cafe & Hostel — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

This is a really special addition to Chiang Mai's coffee scene, with a solid coffee and signature menu, friendly staff, and a nice open space with really good music playing. It's cool, but still welcoming and comfortable.

It's also the only place I've seen in Thailand with an Einspanner on the menu. If you're not familiar, the Einspanner was a drink for coachmen in Austria that covered their coffee with whipped cream to keep it from spilling, back in the days before cups had lids. I was really tempted to try the one here today, but the tiramisu latte had called dibs on my heart. I stand by my choice. But I know I'm going to have to come back to try...

I love love this coffee shop whenever I visit this Chiang Mai. Owned & run by a young Thai gentleman with his 3 cats ( they are the real bosses that relaxes every moment). My first day when I got to Chiang Mai on Feb 28, 2025, I immediately went there. Cats were busy napping upstairs, cannot be woken up:))) Well finally “Kiao” came over, she is adorable, has her own little bed with her stereo system and pillow, what a life! Great cappuccino, service & kitty company .

I love this place! The staff and the cats are very sweet and the coffee is real af!

The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and has a minimalist design, but also a cozy, homely feel.

The aircon works well in here, so if you are struggling with the tropical climate, then this is where you want to be.
