I recently saw a post saying this restaurant has been established since 2007 which is about the first time I went. Over the years whenever I've been in magnificent Chiang Mai I've made a visit. I've had some fantastic food here and always been welcomed. My latest visit was yesterday and, unusually for me, had a vegetarian menu. Years ago Marco used to serve a starter of very finely sliced soft vegetables, aubergine, courgette etc soaked in oil and I used to lap it up. It hasn't been on the menu for a good while, to my knowledge, and so when I saw they had a starter of Cold Ratatouille I saw my chance to repeat that experience at least closely. I was right it was delicious and as in days of old I mopped up every last scrap with Marco's fresh homemade bread. I was alone last night so didn't feel the need for loads of food and so went for a main of spinach and goats cheese stuffed ravioli to complete the veggie vibe. Two generous glasses of house white and a bottle of water and all for under a thousand baht. No wonder his...
Read moreThis has been our go to place for years. Sadly this year will be our last as Marco & his team have obviously allowed fame to get the better of them.
My wife and I ordered the rib eye ; first, it arrived cold and when we tried to cut through it, found that it had lots of tendons. Eventually we left most it untouched as it became a chore trying to chew thru it.
Informed the "manager" who replied that it was the supplier's fault and they would feedback.
Then Marco himself came by the table and when I explained that I wanted to simply give feedback (absolutely no intention to ask for any discount etc) , his one liner reply was "oh, but as you know, it's not wagyu" after which he promptly walked away.
At no point was there any effort at service recovery and the arrogance was simply over flowing.
Having said that, we should mention that the tuna carpaccio was very good.
We wish Marco and his team all the best and hope that they will improve their...
Read moreWe were very sad about our experience with the restaurant as it looked so promising which is why we came. We showed up around 4 because it said they were open turns out they weren't open until 5 pm so they told us to come back then they were open. Very eager to try this restaurant we waited an hour and walked around to kill some time. When 5 pm approached we walked to the place and they completely ignored us and we tried to get their attention because they were open and they just continued to walk away from us... We were very confused so we asked them again if they were open and they said yes and then proceeded to shut the door on us. Super odd experience and not sure why this happened considering others said they had...
