Will never return again to this trap.
Have been for many other massages all around Thailand and none of them have ever ended with such a bad feeling before.
I’ve experienced really bad massages before at other places where it hurts and I discover bruises afterwards, yet I never even leave a bad review, just let it go and never return to the same place.
Came to this branch of Health Land for a basic massage. The massage itself was good and the chairs were extremely plush and comfortable. After we were done, the massuese gave us tea and waited at the doorway while we put on our shoes and drank the tea. When we got up to leave and walked past them, a few of the masseuses there started to exclaim “Eh, eh, tip! Tip! Tip!” We were quite confused as no other massage place has ever DEMANDED a tip before, especially not in this manner where they were outright SHAMING you in front of other staff and customers until you give them a tip. When I tried to clarify if we were required to tip, the staff (who all had their faces covered with masks) sarcastically answered “Yes, give tip!” and proceeded to laugh amongst each other like they were making fun of us??
Maybe it’s my bad for not knowing if this is the culture/expectation, but I believe tips are up to the customer’s discretion to appreciate a genuinely good service. If it is truly something expected/required, then the front desk should let you know before you make payment so you’re aware and can decide whether you’re okay with it. However, ABSOLUTELY NO NOTICE was given anywhere or mentioned at any point, hence why we were caught off guard. (We have seen other massage parlors in the same area who openly state in their menu that there is a minimum tip and that’s totally fine!)
This unfortunately made the entire experience and place like some shady tourist rip off that the Health Land management is probably not even aware that their staff are doing. Never returning again to any of...
Read moreIncompetent, unprofessional masseuse which turned 90 minutes into a nightmare.
I usually go to the Asoke branch for aromatic oil messages but they're completely booked for today so I came to the Sathorn branch.
From the get-go,the masseuse was incredibly rough and poked more than messaged. About ten minutes in, it was really painful I had to tell her to switch to the medium pressure and she stopped messaging at all.
What she did instead was pour excessive oil on my body and just rub them without any pressure. There was so much oil that all my limbs became sticky and the oil sat in the back of my knees and joints - it was disgusting and uncomfortable throughout.
Plus, the smell from all that oil was overwhelming and nauseating. (I buy Heath Land vouchers in tens so know that this is not his it's supposed to work.)
The worst: she was also highly disrespectful to my body. They always put different layers of cloth and towels so that therapists can expose only parts of the body that are messaged and maintain the modesty of the clients. This woman did it very haphazardly, multiple times, that my upper body was completely uncovered at times except with my arms crossed. She did it very fast without any warning too, so that created a very unpleasant tenseness as well after the first few times she did that.
At the end of 90 minutes which is supposed to be relaxing, now I'm angry. The oil is still very sticky and reeks excessively even after wiping away multiple times, so once I get back home, I'm going to have to take a shower and wash it all off against the usual practice for messages.
What a waste of time, money and energy. I would have been better off not coming here at all. If you must, go to Asoke and Pinklao branches which tend...
Read moreHad to book in advance as it was very crowded. Chose the 2 hour therapeutic massage for 1200 Baht and mentioned pain points that I would like them to focus on. The place does not feel relaxing at all however as the staff can be seen hurriedly trying to process all customers. No clear guidance on welcoming customer leading me to find the way to the massage area and also no guidance after the massage too. Usually there will be a drink given after the massage but no one was there offering or guiding me at all.
Regarding the massage, I was led to the massage area which was quite open, so it was quite noisy with people talking. The therapist massaged my neck which I requested to focus on really well as he know the tense points.
However, before we started I mentioned to avoid my left feet as it was injured but the therapist seemed to forgot about it and pressed it really hard that i was painful.
Also he ended the massage an hour after and left quickly while I was checking the time to find out only an hour has passdd. I tried to find him to let him know about it but he was nowhere to be found. After confirming with the cashier, they apologised and offered to continue the massage but at that point I don't feel like continuing and they gladly refunded an hour's worth of money.
All in all the place felt busy, crowded and not relaxing at all, there was even a spider on the bed and with the miscommunication between the front desk and therapist, I will explore other options. However I think the experience will vary if one decide to get a private...
