I stayed in Sabai Sathorn in January 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Sabai Sathorn is a serviced apartment and suits anyone wishing to stay long term or prefer the feeling of staying in a small apartment rather than a typical hotel. I used to live in a beautiful apartment in Bangkok many years ago and so I did my best to pretend that my lovely Sabai Sathorn suite was my Bangkok home.||The big appeal for me is the whole area of Sathorn and Silom. It’s a fantastic alternative option to the usual Sukhumvit area which although I like, it can become too much often with the traffic, night life and hectic atmosphere. This area certainly has night life and for sure the Bangkok traffic but for sure feels a whole let hectic. The hotel is so close to the Chong Nonsi sky train allowing you to immediately access the transport system and zip around town. In addition, you are a shot walk form St. Louis BTS train station. You are south of the amazing Lumphini Park which is a truly wonderful location to escape the city and enjoy some peace and quiet in a green space. If you are craving some excitement, you are a short walk from the famous Pat Pong night market and the bars should you feel the need for a drink and a little sensual entertainment. You are surrounded by some fantastic architecture and urban views which really shows the development of Bangkok and this is welcome if you are looking to experience all of Thailand. So, a week here can contrast with the beaches of the south or the mountains of the north. The iconic King Power Mahanakhon skyscraper is a must see with its heart stopping glass viewing deck. In addition, the hotel allows you to easily the old quarter of Bangkok very easily and the must-see area of China Town and of course the incredible Chao Phraya River and all that has to offer. So, for me the location of the hotel is wonderful.||Right outside Sabai Sathorn you have the option of some truly awesome outdoor street food restaurants offering a great selection of Thai food. There you will mix with both locals and tourists and feel totally connected. But should you prefer a more fancy dining experience you are a one minute walk from some of Bangkok’s best restaurants and bars offering the best cuisine and atmosphere. I would recommend a walk around the immediate streets to locate the fantastic bars restaurants that must be experienced and all right on the doorstep of Sabai Sathorn.||There is an excellent roof top pool. Bathed in the hot sun for most of the day and with sufficient easy chairs to grab for a much-needed sunbathing session. The pool is designed well with good décor and even a massage room adjacent. Although I didn’t use the massage facilities, I was informed by a fellow traveler the Thai ladies working there knew their skills. It is essential to have a great pool to cool off after a hot day in the busy dusty Bangkok city.||Now the brilliant staff really made the experience memorable for me. Always on hand with the famous Thai smile to help you with all your needs. It was so reassuring to know that the staff could be reliable for any needs you may have. Very charming and polite and all so professional. ||There is a café and small restaurant on the ground floor and although I did not use either of these they clearly provided a good range of food. As mentioned, the street has numerous great little cafes and street food eateries with incredibly tasty food at an affordable price. So, you are never far from some sustenance. Important to note my room had a whole kitchen and so bringing food in and cooking there is always an option. ||The room I booked was more than just ‘a room’. It was in fact an apartment and I have lived and worked in Bangkok and so this really felt like my home for the time I was there. Fantastic to close doors, walk around and feel that you are actually in a little home rather than just one single room. If there were more than one of you, you would thus benefit from some privacy and enjoy the ample living room and space. Great TV with Youtube and more of course. There are rooms with better street views and so I would advise going for one of those looking out onto Bangkok. I would have preferred more natural light flooding into my room but I know that’s possible with a room overlooking the streets. My room did not have such a great view. But rooms higher up certainly do and so worth trying to book one of those. Ample cupboard space, comfy bed and of course lovely bathroom with hot shower. ||I really believe this is one of the best options in this area of Bangkok. The quality of the rooms, the incredible service, affordable rates and amazing location all come together to make this a truly...

Read moreI like giving a really well rounded and detailed review so others have a good idea of what to expect. We stayed at Sabai once for 3 nights in a one bedroom and just over a week later 4 nights in a two bedroom. Our first stay was extremely enjoyable which lead to our second one which wasn't as good. I'll detail below. ||Check in |We had a hard time getting answers from Sabai before our arrival. Specifically requesting assistance in booking a ride from the airport. We did eventually secure transportation (via email) but I do not recommend trying to call or WhatsApp. That got us no where. The service they provided pickup from Bangkok airport and was efficient and satisfactory. |Please note, not noted on booking was a ฿500 room deposit. Cash only. It wasn't a problem for us but is worth knowing ahead to be prepared. ||Room #1 (304) - While this building is older the room was well maintained and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the little amenities provided were a nice bonus. Toothbrushes, ear buds, drinking water, sufficient towels and linens (including nice pillows). There is an inroom safe and the built in furniture was nice. There was a mildew odor faintly but I overlooked it. The dehumidifier on the floor in the bedroom should have been a sign that the room had moisture issues which manifested in a completely soaked floor, bed and clothing one morning when the dehumidifier had filled and quit running. This lead to having to rush dry some clothing items before checking out but overall the room was very good for the price point. ||Room #2 (407) - This room was less satisfactory. It needed some maintenance in the painting and general upkeep. The couch was horrific. It was a cheap vinyl that was crunchy, noisy and perpetually damp. It had large tears in it with a poor attempt at covering them. I was hoping the addition of the couch would make our party of 3 more comfortable to watch TV but it did not and was actually pretty upsetting (especially considering a significantly higher room rate for this second booking being a 2 bed for what turned out to be an unusable addition). I wish I had said something and requested they adjust the rate or downgrade us back to a 1 bedroom. As we were leaving - new couches were arriving which tells me they were aware that the couches they had in there had major issues. The beds in this unit were NOT comfortable. The mattresses were quite hard. The air conditioning in the main bedroom was noisy and almost intolerable. Also annoying was that all the windows in this unit were covered with a thick frost film which killed any natural light. I'm a light person and I really disliked how dark it made the room. I think there are more long term residents on this floor as there was a lot more noise (like music, visitors, etc) and we were the unfortunate witness to a very violent domestic dispute in the hallway that was very unsettling for myself and my son. I asked a woman who was cleaning to intervene ( to call someone who would) and she dismissed me. ||Pool |The pool area is beautiful with a gorgeous skyline view. The water was crystal clear during both stays and the pool itself is in good condition. My only complaint about the pool area is that the decking is in need of serious maintenance. Like other things in this hotel it's just a bit "too worn". There are uneven and soft boards. ||Cafe |The little cafe and lounge area in the lobby were fantastic and one the highlights for us. We got coffee and little pastries every morning for a very reasonable price.||Spa |A full 5 stars for all services that our party had. It was EXCELLENT and the pricing was fabulous. ฿300-400 for most one hour services. The ladies there were attentive, skilled and kind. I cannot recommend them more highly.||Location|Very central and perfect for our visit. There are TWO 711's right outside of the building as well as many restaurants and access to transportation.||Laundry facilities were sufficient for our needs and we had no issues|||Overall, the first stay was so enjoyable that I'm not going to allow the second stay to put me off giving it a third try when I'm back in Bangkok but I felt I way overpaid the second time for a sub par unit. If that were to happen again - I would choose to find a...
