MODO Pizza — Restaurant in Talat Nuea

Stopped by for lunch and was extremely impressed at the pizza here.

While I only ever had Detroit style in London and Dubai, I can say that this is every bit as good as those places. The dough is light, the toppings are of high quality (really nice sauce and mushrooms in particular, I felt), and the caramelised crust is perfect. Like they take it right up to the edge, just short of the line between caramelised and burnt, and it’s packed with flavour.

One lovely detail is the availability of Frank’s hot sauce, which worked perfectly with the pizza.

If you love pizza, you will not be disappointed here. I eat pizza at least 1-2x a week and if this were back in London it would definitely be on my reference list.

The team/service were super nice and the drinks selection is pretty good as well.

We were a vegetarian party so didn’t try the classic pepperoni, for what it’s worth I thought it looked and smelled delicious.

As someone from Detroit, I can confidently say that MODO Pizza in Rawai is the real deal! 🇺🇸🍕 Today is their first day open, and I couldn’t be more excited to be here and experience authentic Detroit-style pizza all the way in Phuket!

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff and the modern yet cozy vibe of the restaurant. The pizza? Absolutely incredible! The signature thick, crispy-edged, cheesy, and perfectly caramelized crust took me straight back home. Every bite was bursting with rich flavors, premium ingredients, and that signature Detroit touch.

Beyond the pizza, they’ve got a fantastic menu with wings, house-made pasta, and even gelato! Everything is crafted with love and attention to detail.

I had completely given up on finding good pizza in Phuket—until I discovered Modo Pizza. I’ve lived here for almost two years, and after trying countless places that just didn’t hit the mark, I figured great pizza simply didn’t exist here. Then, by pure chance, the owner came to our flower shop to buy a bouquet, and that’s how we found out about this hidden gem.

From the very first bite, it was clear this place is on a whole different level. The crust is perfectly crispy, the cheese has that incredible caramelized finish, and every bite is packed with rich, authentic flavor. You can taste the passion and quality in every detail.
