Had found this listed on Atlas Obscura as am at the stage of looking for more of the beaten track things to do in London. Only open april- November - and on Saturdays via a guided ticket/ tour. ( Link on City of London website - this year through Eventbrite) £12 plus fee for adults. They do not seem to check their emails inbox for enquiries re group booking / alterations as feedback to col / others! And you need the name of your ticket, not the bar code on arrival. Toilet in building . Variation of guides and their information - volunteer blue badge guides- be nice! Site as seen online. Read moreVERY VERY CLOSED... to the extent both me and other people thought that they'd gone out of business. There wasn't even a sign for hours or anything or anything apologizing to potential visitors with info about when it might reopen. I took a photo of the sign, and went to the website, which said it was completely closed to visitors and only open to groups willing to pay ~150 pounds.... I then emailed them, a few days later they responded. They're reopening on weekends only in April. That said... the museum looked like a building out of business, and for a LONG time, but for the map of london poster on the side... There REALLY should have been something on the door or window apologizing to customers and saying that they were NOT out of business and would reopen once Covid has lessened...
Read moreIt was a really nice way to spend an hour. The guides explained everything really clearly and while they didn’t know the answer to everything (and who does, realistically?? ) they were pleased to answer what they could. Their knowledge was very wide and I really enjoyed the tour
I think the guided nature of the tour is really what makes this museum. There’s a lot to see and learn in such a small place and they really brought it alive
The site itself is incredibly interesting and it’s great to learn the history over the last 2000 years...
