This video serves as evidence that: A damaged item (211570888 WAVE QUILTED HARD) was being sold at the Regent Street Primark store. The receipt explicitly indicated that the item was damaged. The item was only purchased because my 8-year-old son insisted on having it, despite it being damaged. Since it was the last available piece at the Regent Street store, the store manager informed us that multiple pieces of the same SKU were available at the Oxford Street (West) Primark branch. He instructed us to go there to exchange this damaged item and to show the receipt as proof of the item’s condition at the time of purchase. The item is clearly listed on the receipt as “211570888 WAVE QUILTED HARD DAMAGED ZIPPER.” The damaged item was packed inside a larger, sealed suitcase to prevent any further damage during transport. After spending both time and money to travel to the Oxford Street Primark, locating a new (undamaged) piece, and standing in a long queue to exchange it as per the instructions from the Regent Street manager, we were met with exceptionally rude behavior. The cashier and the manager she called flatly refused the exchange, despite the receipt clearly marking the item as damaged. I requested them to contact the Regent Street manager to confirm the background, but they dismissed the request. Due to the shocking level of rudeness, prejudice, and humiliation we experienced, I began recording the interaction. At this point, the previously aggressive manager began avoiding the camera and insisted I stop filming. Off-camera, he shouted at the cashier: “MAKE SURE THOSE PEOPLE NEVER GET TO RETURN ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE. NO RETURN! NO RETURN!” Attached is video proof capturing the latter part of the interaction. Also included is proof of both purchases: • The damaged item (211570888 WAVE QUILTED HARD DAMAGED ZIPPER) was purchased at Regent Street Primark at 18:36h • The brand new replacement suitcase (same model – 211570888 WAVE QUILTED HARD) was purchased at Oxford Street Primark at 19:31h, after we traveled there, located the item, queued, and completed billing — all within an hour.
We are not seeking store credit or compensation. This video will remain online as a record of the disgraceful service, misinformation, and the arbitrary power of individual Primark managers — especially at the Oxford Street branch — to override official Primark exchange and return policies.
Additionally, we are tagging not only the Consumer Court, but also Tourism London and other official bodies to highlight the discriminatory and humiliating treatment that certain racial groups are subjected to in such stores.
It’s unfortunate that the video doesn’t capture the beginning of the interaction, when the rudeness and aggression were at their peak — but even the footage here offers a diluted glimpse of that appalling behavior. I urge Primark to retrieve the CCTV footage from the billing areas and our interaction from both stores. The timestamps on the receipts provide the exact date and time of both...

Read moreI’ve been visiting this Primark store frequently, but today’s experience (2/7/2025) was extremely disappointing due to the rude behavior of a staff member at the women’s fitting rooms.
My sister and I were quietly waiting to be let into the fitting rooms and remained polite and respectful the entire time. Despite that, the staff member took quite a while to even acknowledge us. When she finally did, she handed us the cards and directed us to rooms 3 and 4. We accidentally entered rooms 4 and 5 (or the other way around) — a small mistake since in our country the signage is displayed differently.
I finished first and waited for my sister, and to our surprise, the staff member went over to her and knocked in an aggressive manner, saying, “THIS IS NOT ROOM 4, THIS IS 4!” — which made no sense and was clearly said in an aggressive tone. My sister was almost done anyway and there was no queue behind us.
When my sister came out and politely tried to return the fitting room card, the staff member blatantly ignored her for no clear reason. She then eyed my sister from head to toe in a judgmental way and asked if she was keeping the clothes. When my sister said yes, the staff member gave her a very unpleasant and disrespectful look.
We were very quiet, respectful, and cooperative throughout, so this kind of treatment felt especially unfair. The store itself was well-organized as usual, but this staff member’s behavior left us with such a negative impression that it made us rethink coming back. Very...
