I have a like- dislike relationship with this church. I've actually been a member for over 12 months now now and have attended the Rml studies ( group bible studies) ,the Sunday service , Summerlink, amongst other Christian seminars and social events on a pretty regular basis.

I reccommend the church for the bible study which is good and the only real reason I still attend. Sadly, I do not reccommend the church to newcomers as it can be rather anti-social particularly if you do not know anyone from the church.

There have been several occasions where I would sit alone at a table at bible study or after the church service for everyone to be busily chatting around me but for me to be totally ignored even by bible study leaders and the welcome team.

There are some exceptions but on the most part they have not made me feel integrated or part of the church family despite my efforts. The majority of the congregration are nice people but they tend to stick to their own groups and rarely approach newcomers. For instance I've been attending for over 1 year and yet hardly know anyone. When I would attend social events I would have to make all the effort yet despite this I was made to feel invisible.

This is not what I expected from a church as it preaches the message of Christ love and inclusivity but does not demonstrate it well. It's a shame because the church has such great potential to grow and spread the gospel.

I realise this is not everyones experience but I wanted to post my personal experience.

If you wish to attend , you will definately learn from the teaching but do not expect to make friends easily.

I hope the congregration and the church leaders will read this review and take note that change needs to occur desperately in this area to appeal to more people, Christians and non Christians alike and to become generally...

I attended St Helens for the best part of a year after leaving Westminster Chapel due to their over charismatic services.

St Helens is a fantastic church that focuses on the most important thing - Christ our Lord. They are a church inspired by the Holy Spirit to preach on the bible and constantly reveal the mysteries within scripture each week.

There are three services, but it’s essentially two services with one repeated twice. The morning is a family service and both the afternoon and evening service are the same content to two audiences.

Throughout the week there are several bible studies, which focus on exploring the bible in great depth over the course of a year.

While no church is perfect in the sense that it will fulfil all individual requirements, this church is as close to biblical perfect as one could hope to achieve. Their focus is right, their heart is open, love is the fixation of the believers and all are truly welcome.

The only criticism, if I had to pick one, would be that everyone asks the same questions when they first meet you which feels prepared or taught. Every time I came I was required to tell people “what brings me to St Helens” and “what brings me to London”.

These are clearly evangelist questions, because there’s a lot of things about a person that you could ask without it being “why are you...

I was baptised at St Helen’s last year, after being strengthen in the faith through our weekly Bible studies on John’s gospel.

Since I’ve started following my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I had wandered through the doors of many churches, but St Helen’s has been the first church to help me settle down in the Christian community and to commit my life to Jesus. My brothers and sisters at this church has helped me through difficult situations with their constant prayers and encouragements.

Now, I regularly attend the Sunday 4pm service, Tuesday Bible studies, and Wednesday lunchtime talks, and I’ve started helping out with crèche at the Sunday 10:30am service. St Helen’s faithfully teaches the Word of God through the many different services and activities throughout the week. St Helen’s also regularly runs Christianity Explored courses for those who are curious about the...

St Helen’s Church, Bishopsgate, is a very interesting and historic place to visit. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, and you can really feel the history within its walls. We were even lucky enough to get a small guided tour, which made the experience even more special and informative. It’s not as crowded as many of London’s big landmarks, which makes it the perfect spot if you want to explore something a little more hidden and authentic. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy history, architecture, or just want to see a different side of the city.

Excellent church in the heart of city of London. Solid bible teaching, very good place to learn about Christianity. Sunday services at 10am, 4pm , and 6pm. The 10am and 4pm have Sunday school for children. Parking can be problematic. Beautiful building.
