One star and it doesn't even deserve that... Please don't waste your hard earned money! Whilst the spa is a nice environment to relax in, the service is appalling. On arrival, there was no record of our afternoon tea booking, despite it being part of the package we had booked, so we had to wait whilst the chef 'rustled something up', we were shown around the spa but then told that we were not allowed to use half of it, whilst relaxing on the heated beds an alarm was set off and nobody came to evacuate us or to apologize or explain (when I sent an email afterwards, they said this was a fire test for the whole building so they were obviously fully aware it would happen but didn't bother to warn us or mention it), we were called for our treatments 25 minutes late and mine was cut short by nearly half! The website stated 25 minutes and I actually got 15. Mint tea was served to us in a pot which had no insulation on the handle and a lid that didn't fit so not only did I burn myself trying to pour it but it spilled everywhere. Whilst relaxing in the chill-out room, a receptionist came in and asked us to pay now as their system kept going down so we had to go to the changing rooms to get our purses and go and pay - not very relaxing!! Finally, the website said the spa closes at 9pm, my friend was initially told 8.30pm but then a receptionist came in and asked us to get ready to leave because the spa would be closing at 8pm so we were effectively kicked out so that they could close early!
The pool was not a spa pool - just a 'leisure centre' style pool where children were having swimming lessons and very uninviting - overlooked by the rest of the centre and cold looking lighting.
On emailing the spa to complain about all of the above, I received no response for 24 hours (replies were forthcoming and swift when we were enquiring about booking) and when I chased, I received a reply addressing only the minor points - the major issues were not acknowledged at all which shows how much regard they have for their clients.
If you are looking for a relaxing spa day where you can truly switch off and enjoy peace and tranquility, please keep looking!! Your money will be better...
Read moreWe were given a surprise present by our children to celeberate our 40th wedding anniversary with an overnight stay and spa at this organisation. we checked in around 3pm and our time slot at the spa was at 6pm. We were told to arrive at the spa reception at 5.30pm to complete the assessment form etc. We duly completed all that then were told to change and wait in the waiting room. We waited for 35 minutes and then appraoch the reception. Were told yes the therapist is busy and coming. No apologies or contact was made by the staff for the delay. Then another 15 minutes gone and nobody turns up and finally a very exhausted type of therapist arrived at the waiting room with a very grumpy mood. Mind you it was 2 of us and only one exhausted therapist. We asked her why we have been waiting all this time and she just snap back at us and walked out of the room. Next thing we know that around 7pm whilst we are still in our bathrobes a lady with a male colleague arrived and enquiring what seems to be the problem.? We told them the whole story and that we have been waiting for an hour , this is our anniversary gift by our children and that we are sitting here with no refreshment being offered. The two staff then went away and came back with apologies etc etc and said the therapist was very tired, she basically walked out without any notice and that they do not have any other therapist to take care of us. Can we offer you a treatment at 10am the next morning and that they will arrange a late check out for us. Obviously being treated this way and the disappointment that we encountered, we declined and we checked out of the hotel too. The revenue manager Ms.Tana Rupani and Mr. Noor assured us and promised that we will be given a free and complimentary treatment at our convenience as we were travelling next week to Canada.
All in all it was a total disappointment and a flop and the attitude of the staff concerned was well below the professional etiquette of organisation like this. In addition the promises made by the senior staff were not fulfilled which they made whilst trying to diffuse the situation. The staff were polite, the facility was clean and the products stocked are decent and fairly priced.
All the above taken into consideration - the spa experience wasn’t exactly relaxing or really a spa experience.
The “extreme relaxation rooms “ - A room with a few sofas and random people there. - I’m sorry but I didn’t feel relaxed. At all.
The second “ relaxation room” heated metal beds - felt like being on holiday, without the sun, just the sweat.
The salt steam room was okay, heated up well and did the job, but I have one in my gym, just as good and comes included for £80 a month (the same price as 1 day ( 2 hours) in the Spa)
The rhassoul ritual was... in all honesty... a bit of a joke.
A bowl of clay mixed with soap to rub on yourself and then sit in a steam room until a member of staff comes in twice to tell you when it’s time to go.. how can you relax??
I’m going to stop there as I’m trying not to be ungrateful - due to this being a gift.
My partner on the other hand was happy with it - but she’s also very much happy go lucky and hasn’t been to many other spas.
Personally I’ve been to many spas - I wouldn’t count this as one. I’m sorry, I was very much looking forward to this for a while but it didn’t cut it for me. Granted, my standards are high - but so are your prices...
