The movie was great — F1. Brad Pitt was phenomenal, and honestly, he’s the reason I stayed until the end. But everything else about the experience made it incredibly difficult — especially for someone using a wheelchair.
Let me start with the entrance. The accessible door — which I assume is meant to make things easier — stays open for only 11 seconds. Eleven seconds. That’s not enough time for someone in a wheelchair to navigate through, especially if they need assistance. It created an unnecessary sense of urgency, and on the way out, it closed too fast and caught my friend’s hand. Two of their fingers were bruised. That shouldn't happen. Something so basic as an accessible entrance should be safe and truly accommodating.
Inside, the theater felt like a walk-in freezer. I came prepared to enjoy myself, got a large Coke — but I couldn’t even drink it because I was shivering through most of the film. I ended up buying a children’s item just because it had a hood. I flipped it upside down so I could use the hood to cover my feet. That’s how cold it was. It wasn’t just uncomfortable — it was distracting, even painful.
Then there’s the seating. We sat in the designated handicap area, center section. The right side of the chair I was trying to use almost collapsed when I leaned on it to sit. It felt loose and unstable — not something anyone should have to worry about, especially in a section meant to be safer and more secure.
And the parking? It's a long distance from the entrance. Not ideal when mobility is already a challenge.
All of these things — the door, the freezing cold, the long walk from parking, the unstable chair — added up. And it’s frustrating, because it doesn’t take much to fix these things. A few extra seconds on the automatic door timer. A consistent and comfortable temperature. Seating that’s regularly checked for stability. Closer accessible parking.
I’m sharing this because going to the movies should be fun — not something you have to "power through." People with disabilities deserve better. We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect the basics to be handled with care.
Brad Pitt made it worth watching. But the theater made it hard to stay.
I checked ADA requirments: "The guidelines that the ADA requires for all business owners and facilities is that an automatic door stays open for at least five minutes." ...
Read moreShort version: Excellent Theater, Great atmosphere and building design, Middle-of-the-road ticket costs (especially for students), Decent food at expected movie theater prices, Fantastic seating (both the fully reclining, pairs of seats and the reservation of seats), Friendly and professional employees. Will return multiple times.
Longer Version: I have been to this theater twice now and I have had nothing but good things to say about it. Once on a Friday night and once during a week night (the only difference was volume of people which created a couple minute wait time on tickets and concessions). The terraced rows of seating is a fantastic idea! Being able to reserve seats also greatly cuts down on frustration, "it's all about me" people, and other inconsiderate customers who couldn't care less about you and your date (other theaters, true story). The sound, quality, lighting, cleanliness of the facilities, and service is all top-notch, thereby greatly increasing my return-ability and excitement to come back for another great night at the movies. Nothing but terrific things from this theater thus far, and I can't wait to go see another movie, especially one like Star Wars in December silently screams on the inside.
Usually places get a bad rap on Google reviews because 90-95% of people who go and have a good/decent/excellent service don't say anything here. Considering there are an average (rough estimate) of 2,000-4,000 people who go through a theater each WEEK, it can't be as bad as the reviews usually lead you to believe. Most of the time the Google reviews only state the horrible side because egregious people (one of thousands) want to vent their fury to the world because their experience was less than kosher, when the average user rarely says anything at all. However, I have decided to start writing reviews to help those who want to make an informed decision based on the average user on an average day. Hopefully you find this helpful from the...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Let's start with today being our wedding anniversary, but who cares right? The movie theater was filthy! Stale popcorn rested on our reserved seat and floor. Looked like there may have been a Popcorn War! Next, foreigners, yes foreigners (mother and father) comes in with a newborn baby, full on breast feeding pump, and a bag of extension hair weave. Trust me I have witnesses. I couldn't make this up if I wanted to. The hair smelled burnt. So the lady starts braiding her hair Maybe from Africa- somewhere over there! But who cares? Then all types of cell phones are ringing- on a high ring tone. At this point you are probably laughing or in shock! It gets better! Then some guy starts having a full on conversation out loud as if no one else is in the theater. So we leaving during Peppermint! We're not pissed noooooo! We're livid. But wait, the fat lady hasn't sung yet! The manager (Mexican, about 5"10 or so, black hair, and facial hair (cross between a mustache and who the hell knows) listens to our complaint at about 6:30 pm. He smiles the entire time. Total procrastination in his every word. Who cares right? Guess I have to build a theater and become a competitor. Who wants to have their issues not listened to or handled by a manager who should have been in the clown business. A perma smile is not appropriate when a customer complains. But who cares, right? Get it together! Put your people back on the floor to make sure ALL guests are satisfied with their movie experience! After all what is the purpose if it's not enjoyable! And by the way- the tickets that were given to use for the 7:30 pm show to basically tell us shut up and stop complaining were given away to some of your other customers! You'll be closed in months with that type of service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But who...
