Angel's Nails - Top 5 Nail Salons In The City — Attraction in Albuquerque

So, I’ve been living close to this nail salon for a while and figured it’d be a great place to get my nails done. I was really excited to finally check it out, but after my recent visit, I wish I hadn’t bothered.

There was no friendly greeting or anything from the woman who asked me what I wanted. She just told me to sit down and wait because there would be a wait. Right from the start, I felt like I wasn’t really welcomed, and I was hoping for a more inviting vibe.

After several minutes, I was finally called. I had already prepped my nails at home, making sure they were cut and cleaned up. I asked for a basic full set of manicure nails with a pink base in an oval shape. But then, the technician put on these long, pointy nails instead! When I told him I wanted them shorter and oval, he said that would be tough because of the width of my nails. That was a bit surprising since I’ve never heard that before at other salons.

Even though I was a bit put off, I stayed polite and let him finish. At first glance, I thought my nails looked okay, but that didn't last long. I noticed that my left hand ring finger nail was shorter than the one on my right.

When I got home and checked my nails under better lighting, I was really disappointed. Not only were they hurting, but they were also shaped poorly. The sides were tender from all the filing, and I could tell they weren’t shaped to fit my natural nails. I even took some pictures, and it was clear that the sides looked off. Plus, I was worried the base would start lifting soon. For all this, I paid $50, which I could have used to pay someone else.

EDIT/UPDATE: I’ve been going to this salon for over a year and still go regularly. Love the staff, and the atmosphere, and they always do an amazing job. I added photos of my most recent visit, almond shape with blue polish and a multi-colored chrome. I’ve never received so many compliments on my nails in my life!! I live in the apartment building across the street from Angel's Nails, and I've enjoyed the proximity and convenience of being able to walk across the street and have Jennifer completely spoil me with her magical foot massages and finely detailed pedicures!

I first met her just before I was scheduled for hip replacement surgery. I stopped in, explained my circumstances and asked if she had time to simply cut my toenails. She very kindly accommodated me immediately, sincerely wished me well with my surgery and refused to accept payment for her service. I was deeply touched by her compassion and generosity! I promised that I would revisit once able to walk again, which I did about 3 months later and we've been together ever since.
