Disneyland updates for May Week 4 & June Week 1, 2024 Disneyland will temporarily close more spots in New Orleans Square and Critter Country this summer starting July 8: • Path to Galaxy’s Edge from New Orleans Square / Critter Country • Hungry Bear Restaurant and restrooms • Davy Crockett;s Explorer Canoes • Snack stands in both land may be relocated or temp close No reopening dates yet but I’ll keep you updated! 💥 Nightly fireworks are back! See them every night this summer except for a few dates including June 18 & 20. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge plays the same fireworks but from a different angle. You’ll hear a tale before the show begins, followed by Star Wars music with the fireworks. The show is called Fire of the Rising Moons. 🌟 Follow @davidvaughn for more Disneyland updates! #disneyland #disneynews #hauntedmansion #neworleanssquare

✨️ It's Davy Crockett's Canoes located in Critter Country. If you board this vessel, you'll be able to see the Wild Frontier – from a duck's eye view. The 20 passenger canoes are free floating, there's no track. This cruise normally takes anywhere between 10 to 12 minutes depending on the guest's determination. ⭐️Did you know that in the summertime, some Cast Members wake up in the early morning hours before sunrise to train hard for a major event on this very river?  They head to Disneyland while it's still dark outside all in order to pick up their oars and paddle canoes around Tom Sawyer's Island. Why?  Well the annual canoe races of course!  This tradition first began when Cast Members from Frontierland challenged Cast Members from Adventureland in 1963 to see which team was faster. After the few weeks of training and qualifying rounds, it comes down to one race,  who can get the fastest time around the island.  The race consists of paddling a little over 1/4 mile in distance with 10 members in a 6 foot long canoe. The race is opened to all members of the Walt Disney Company family.  About 80+ teams enter the race,  but only 8 teams qualify to compete at finals.  When I raced there were three categories, women, male and coed teams.  I was a long time member of a Coed Team called GG Crew and was also on a women's team called Herc's Honeys.  I'm quoted in the Disneyland Line, right before our 4th consecutive win, "We're nervous this year.  Our captain really stresses that it's not all about winning. It's about having fun and the pancake breakfast afterward." 😄 Paddling in those early morning canoe races were some of my fondest memories of being a Cast Member at Disneyland.  We trained hard, we paddled fast, and if you didn't throw up after your first full out paddle, you weren't rowing hard enough.  The winners from each division then row a victory lap around the island. We start out dry, and somehow, manage to all come back soaking wet to the docks. I wonder how that happens?🤣 Nearly 59 years later, I do hope this tradition will never end for Cast Members. ⭐️Have you ever canoed around River's of America @Disneyland ? ... #disneylandhistory

An Unforgettable Canoeing Adventure! My family and I had an amazing time on Davey Crockett's Explorer Canoes last week. We were a little hesitant at first, but the experience was a blast from start to finish. Our canoe instructor, Jeremy, was the absolute best! He was super friendly, kept us entertained with a lot of great jokes, and made the whole experience incredibly fun. Not only was the physical activity of rowing refreshing, but the views of the park from the water were spectacular. It was so cool to see the familiar sights from a completely different perspective. We all had a great time and made some wonderful memories. This ride is a true hidden gem at Disneyland and a definite must-do!

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on an unforgettable adventure with Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes at Disneyland, and I cannot express how impressed I was with the entire experience. This attraction truly deserves a 5-star rating, thanks to the incredible efforts of the dedicated cast members, Joe, Isaac, and Zoey, who poured their hearts into making our journey exceptional.

From the moment we stepped aboard the canoe, Joe, Isaac, and Zoey greeted us with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm. Their passion for their jobs was evident in every interaction. Not only were they knowledgeable about the history and lore of the river, but they also went above and beyond to ensure our safety and enjoyment throughout the ride.

The canoe journey itself was a delightful adventure. Navigating the scenic river, we felt transported into the world of Davy Crockett and his wilderness explorations. The sights and sounds of nature surrounded us, creating a truly immersive experience. The cast members' dedication to maintaining the authenticity of the journey added an extra layer of magic to the entire excursion.

What truly stood out during our experience was the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by Joe, Isaac, and Zoey. Their attention to detail, engaging storytelling, and genuine care for our enjoyment made the trip memorable. Their passion for creating magical moments for guests was evident, and it greatly enhanced our overall experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes to any Disneyland visitor seeking an immersive and memorable adventure. The exceptional efforts of Joe, Isaac, and Zoey truly made our journey outstanding. Their commitment to pouring their hearts into their roles is a testament to the magical experiences Disneyland is known for.

Thank you, Joe, Isaac, and Zoey, for creating such a wonderful experience on Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes. Your dedication and passion truly made a difference, and I cannot wait to embark on this adventure again...

We recently made one of our many trips to the Land with a couple friends of ours, also annual passholders, and I was shocked that they had never been on the Canoes at Disneyland. Much to our dismay, they were closed that day. The Canoes are great, especially when you get a really excited leader. One of the canoe leaders had us racing one of the other canoes, eventually overtaking them. That was GREAT!

Once you get to the backside of the rivers of America, you can almost forget that you're at Disneyland, you almost feel like your in the wilderness. I will be making the Canoes a priority on...
