Soarin' Around the World at Disneyland's California Adventure is an absolute must-do! šāØ This ride offers one of the most breathtaking and immersive experiences in the park. From the moment you step into the queue, youāre surrounded by a calming and adventurous atmosphere with soft lighting and subtle aviation-themed decor that sets the mood perfectly.
Once you're seated, the magic begins. As you lift off, the feeling of soaring through the air is so realistic ā your feet dangle as the massive screen in front of you fills your entire field of vision. The sights and sounds are incredible ā youāll find yourself gliding over iconic landmarks like the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, and the Pyramids of Egypt. The transitions between each location are smooth and natural, making you feel like youāre really traveling across the globe.
What makes Soarin' even more immersive is the use of scents ā you can actually smell the grasslands of Africa, the salty ocean breeze, and the fresh scent of cherry blossoms. The wind effects and gentle movement of the ride simulate the feeling of actual flight, adding another layer of realism.
The musical score is another highlight ā itās grand and inspiring, perfectly matching the visuals and making the whole experience feel like a magical journey. The combination of the stunning imagery, the music, and the motion effects create an emotional and unforgettable experience.
Soarin' has a moderate wait time, but itās absolutely worth it. If you can, try to get a seat in the middle row, as it offers the best views without distortion from the edges of the screen.
Itās suitable for all ages ā not too intense for kids but still exciting enough for adults. Soarin' Around the World captures the wonder of travel and adventure in a way that only Disney can deliver. Itās one of those rides youāll want to experience again and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile I was hoping I'd get to ride Soaring over California it turned out to be Soaring Around the World instead. This is the exact same ride over in the Land pavillion at EPCOT center. Since I enjoyed it there I knew that I would love it here.
Patrick Warburton AKA "Puddy" from the Seinfeld series gives you a briefing before you enter the ride. After taking a numbered place you walk into your assigned row to have a seat and put fasten your seat belt. Small items can be stored in the pocket near the bottom of your seat. A cast member directs you where you can safely put larger items on the floor so that you don't loose them.
As soon as the ride starts a roof swings down over the entire unit to give you the sensation of hang gliding. The entire unit is lifted so you can watch an Omni max video featuring not only the 7 wonders of the world but also the great icons, frozen waters with breaching whales, the great pyramids of Egypt, the great wall of China, Sydney harbor, the South Pacific, Disneyland, and a lot more!
They angle the film so at times you feel like you are "touching" water-don't worry they don't splash any on you. You can feel the coldness as you soar over icy regions. All in all the ride is gentle and more relaxing.
Ideally it is best to be in the first row so that you won't see hanging feet from above but nevertheless the ride is just as enjoyable. To cut time, I'd recommend using...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time to Disney California Adventure Park on 6/8/2023. My son and husband went on this ride without me because scents are released on the ride and I have a lot of allergies. If its the California version, they release the smell or citrus - so If you have citrus allergies this is not a good option for you. If its the World version, they release the smell of grass - so if you have a grass allergy then that might not be an option for you either. Also I think both release the smell of the beach (whatever scents that might contain). So because I have a large number of allergies including both allergies to grass and citrus, I cannot go on this ride which is the only reason this ride lost a star. Now my son and husband who got to go on it, loved the ride. They even enjoyed the wait because there was a lot of aviation history depicted like they were walking through a museum. My grandfather worked at Lockheed in Burbank during World War II so they came out telling me they saw the P-38 Lightning that grandpa helped build, so that was precious. If park lines had been shorter, they wanted to ride Soarin' Over the World again. Overall this ride was reported to me as good for all ages. They did not feel jerkiness to hurt necks or backs. Our wait time was 45 minutes, but the museum feel to the line made it...
