Very historic charming inn, in the heart of historic downtown Annapolis, MD. By staying at the Governor Calvert House, you will enjoy friendly check in staff, and also valet parking if you choose that option. The inn is hundreds of years old, so do not expect modern amenities as if you were staying in a Marriott, etc. Parking IS difficult in the area and street parking limited, so I do suggest the valet parking. The inn is clean, quiet and close to everything. I live locally and stay in the Historic Inns of Annapolis because they are wonderful!
Please remember to have patience with the valets, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. It can take anywhere from 5 to 20 mins to retrieve your car. Read moreHistoric now translates to things no longer work. Been coming here for over 30 years and unfortunately our most recent experience was very disappointing. Plumbing in our room was wholly inadequate, toilet took upwards of 5 minutes to refill. Shower did not drain. Water pressure was nonexistent. Mirror had dust behind it that looked historic. Sadly, this property is resting on its laurels of historic quaintness as more modern properties have become prevalent in Annapolis. Stroll by to see the historic relics in the lobby but if you want accommodations beyond a 2 or 3 star hotel equivalent at a 4 or 5 star price, think twice about...
