I am not one to write reviews often but it has been bothering me to an extreme level on how I was treated at this shop. I was so excited to go antique shopping in Annapolis, especially since I’ve been living here my whole life and had never gone antiquing here. When I first walked in I got so excited when I first saw the HUGE amount of native jewelry in the front. I am absolutely obsessed with collecting native jewelry and had never seen this much in one place. I first started walking around the store before heading back to the front case with the jewelry. While I was browsing, I crouched down to look at something that was lower to the floor and I got met with an aggressive voice from behind the counter “you better be careful, you’re going to knock something over”. I was definitely not close at all to knocking anything over but I decided to brush it off. Once I was done browsing around I went back up to the counter to look at the jewelry. As I was looking at some earrings I was trying to see if they had a stamp (most native jewelry after a certain period of time have a stamp in the silver on the back of the piece). The lady behind the counter, again with an extremely rude tone, “are you going to buy those?”. I said “I’m just looking right now”. And she responds with “Then DO NOT touch them”. I had the full intention to buy a piece of jewelry from this shop but after being greeted with complete ignorance and rudeness, I decided to leave. Unfortunately, I would’ve loved to have a great experience at this shop, especially after getting so excited when I walked in. If you’re looking for a welcoming and amazing Antique store DO NOT GO HERE. I had two amazing experiences at other stores this day, Evergreen Antiques and This & That...
Read moreI've never written a review for any product or store, I usually just press 5 stars and move on when I'm asked to leave one, but I'll leave one here because I feel like people should be warned.
I went into the store at 4:50ish, looked around the store for about 15 minutes and then went up to the front desk to look at the rings (the main reason I went there). After a couple minutes the lady behind the counter asked, "Are you going to buy anything or what?" At first I thought she was joking, but she continued to berate my girlfriend and I. She asked me "How would you know when the store closes?!" I told her that the internet said that they close at 6:30 so I wasn't aware that we were wasting anybody's time. I wouldn't mind leaving if she had asked us politely to leave, but she was crass and cold and eventually told us to leave, being harsh throughout the entire conversation. I feel bad leaving a poor review on a local shop, but I feel obliged to say something because it was such a backwards experience.
The last thing you want at an antique shop is to be rushed and lambasted for browsing the store. Anyways, mind your time while you're there. The reviews here are all 5 stars so, maybe she was just having a bad day. 2 stars for anything but...
Read moreMy husband, my brother, and I went in yesterday. We met the owner Ray and OMG THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL!!! The collection he has is unreal and for what the pieces are are actually well priced. Believe me, I grew up around the exact same pieces (furniture, decor, etc) and as a broke millennial the prices are good. Especially for the area...because Annapolis. (I can say that because I live here). Anyways, I will be returning when I can. Thank you Ray for a lovey afternoon and I look forward to seeing you again. This time to buy...
