I have been a very regular customer of Annapolis Ice Cream for about 10 years now, but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. The first thing I noticed was the newly remodeled store was littered with trash. Spoons, napkins and cups strewn across the floor remained undisturbed. A tub of ice cream sat on the countertop melting, while the 6 teenage employees chatted amongst themselves, snacking away on waffle cone pieces in plain view of myself and the other customers waiting to be served. The freezer lids remained wide open, but the windows have been covered, so the ice cream is no longer visible to the customers. I'm not sure I want to know why. When we finally received our ice cream, it was thankfully still the same quality I have come to know and expect from Annapolis Ice Cream company, but between the indifferent service, the lack of pride or attention to detail in keeping up the store, and the complete lack of discipline in the staff, I will surely not return. I would rather go anywhere else and be treated like a customer rather than an inconvenience. I hope the new management is able to solve these issues, because the ice cream is still great, but everything else was quite the opposite. I left feeling disappointed and sad, and I can only hope...
Read moreOne of the best ice cream places ever! We visited on Friday afternoon, and the guy over the counter was extremely nice and friendly! He offered us samples, and I mean he gave us big chunks on sample spoons! He was also so patient while we were debating which ones to get. We did two double cups. Portions were huge, yet very inexpensive for a famous sightseeing spot. Ice cream tasted so fresh — my blueberry pie one tasted like someone just poured fresh pies into vanill ice cream a minute ago. Big pie chunks were great touches! My husband enjoyed his brownie butter one — we didn’t see it on the menu, but the guy grabbed it from the back when we asked (again, super nice of him!). Both of us loved the birthday cake flavor! They use chocolate sponge cake in the butter, which is fun because I feel like birthday cake flavor usually uses yellowcake. It had a nice sponge cake texture, also tasted so fresh! We loved that every flavor we tried wasn’t too sweet! I saw that they’d let your dog come into the store too. Annapolis ice cream company went above beyond of our expectations, highly highly...
Read moreabout 40 flavors or so available when you walk in, you'll have a hard time choosing what to get! Luckily, it's impossible to get a bad flavor here! Everything is made in-house, and there are so many fun options. On my most recent visit, I got a scoop of pistachio and sweet cream. The pistachio was sublime and was made with real pistachio butter. Sweet cream is one of my favorite flavors here and is criminally underrated, imo. If you're visiting, you MUST TRY one of their signature flavors (and my top fave), chocolate brownie brownie batter!! No, that's not a typo. This flavor is so rich and decadent, it literally tastes like you're eating a spoonful of raw brownie batter! Service is friendly, too. There's also a location owned by the same company in West Annapolis called Always Ice Cream, and I also highly recommend it. Annapolis Ice Cream is a local gem and should absolutely be part of your Annapolis...
