Dane Wells Gallery — Attraction in Asheville

We stumbled upon Dane and his gallery while walking in Downtown Santa Fe. We honestly weren't looking to buy any art on this trip but the storefront window caught our eye as we walked by so we had to go in. Once in, Dane had so many amazing works that were so unique and compelling. Getting to speak with him, he talked about what inspired him and why. With so many pieces at different sizes we struggled to decide what we wanted to get but we had to have something. Dane was so patient with us, moving pieces to different lighting, to different walls and comparing and contrasting the individual pieces with each other. Eventually we landed on the “Mesmerizing Vision”! We get so many compliments on it, by both art lovers and friends that just are mesmerized by it when they visit. Dane is both very talented and very engaging and we are so happy to have spent time with him and bought such a wonderful and exquisite piece from him. Definitely worth a visit if you are...

My husband and I took a trip to Santa Fe from Dallas and could not have been more fortunate than to have stumbled into the Dane Wells Gallery. What started as just wanting to ask where the artist’s mug was from turned into a connection with an incredible new friend.

This gallery is unlike any other in Santa Fe (and that is saying a lot because there are so many incredible ones!) Dane sets up his latest draft work in the back of the studio which is a true treat to observe. We fell in love with a particular painting, not just for its beauty, but for its meaning. Entitled “Higher Grounds” Dane explained the rich use of color and the reason for its naming. We immediately connected with the painting, and Dane!
