The Japanese Garden is located in the Lithia Park in Ashland Oregon. The park is in right in the cool town of Ashland. With lots of nice trails, ponds and picnic areas - the Japanese Garden is a new addition getting lots of attention. You can get to it off Granite Ave. There is a self guided tour - the Garden is not huge - takes maybe 30 minutes to see and experience it. But, it is beautiful and serene. There are big Japanese Maples, towering bamboo and a wonderful rock falls and short stream ending in a pool with Koi (large ones!!!). There also an area with a large Japanese Sand Garden. It was just getting arranged when we were there - it does looks like it will be a great visual once done. They are also planning a Tea Garden - hopefully selling Japanese Tea in the future. Once done walking this beautiful place there are other trails to stroll and see majestic trees. Once done - you are minutes away from lots of nice...

While Lithia Park itself may be the "crown of Ashland," this Garden is the "Crown Jewel." The love that created it brings love and peace to...
Read moreI absolutely loved this new addition to town. It was such a short walk from downtown. Many folks were touring this awesome garden. The leaves were changing colors and the smell of fresh cut cedar permeated the air. This is a must see for anybody visiting Ashland. America does not have many cooler spaces than this town offers. I didn’t see more than a few folks that weren’t blissfully enjoying the day. It was super family friendly with great water features, a zen sandlot, and landscaping designs to be emulated by any fan of the Japanese style of pruning and specimen arrangement. I still miss this space and all the wonderful folks I...
