Upstairs was cute, the cafe was closed though.

Staff was not helpful, and rather rude. My husband and i had never been in, i had never heard of the bookstore before but he wanted to suprise me for my birthday. I asked if they were new or used books and the lady behind the desk scoffed at me before saying the books were new.

I couldnt find the childrens book i was looking for. A Very Hungry Caterpiller for my young daughter, i was heading up to ask if the lady knew if they had that when i heard her telling another couple "I dont know if we have it, you'll just have to look yourselves."

We left shortly after that, and Amazon had A Very Hungry...

Bought a few books but spent a while sitting reading before I paid and no one hassled me (thank you!) It's so nice to have a comfy place where I can read a little bit before paying. They have good people recommending books here, I know this because I saw multiple John Langan books on display with the rec shelf. So I'd trust their book judgment. They had Fledgling by Octavia Butler in stock which RULES because it's such a good book but it's so hard to find because some booksellers are cowards. I don't live in Ashland but every time I visit I stop here and...

Was not impressed, small shop with not alot of selection, been to many nicer shops in Oregon. Granted, I'm not a person who visits book stores. My wife found some books she was looking for but was disappointed for the top of her list, not uncommon books...

Still, employees were very knowledgeable and helpful.
