STATION The store is well organized and uncluttered. The courteous clerk agreed that the women’s tops could be 100% cotton instead of polyester/rayon. (For $33, it would be nice to have organic material.)
KITCHEN I wanted to shop local for the holidays. I knew it would be more expensive, but I wanted to support my community. It’s too bad that they couldn’t provide customer service.
Mindful of COVID guidelines, I tried to shop online. I could not because the website doesn’t disclose all the product details; i.e. materials, where manufactured, etc. After scouring their website for a few hours, I went in prepared with a list.
I found all the items myself, except for one. As I steered through the narrow aisles and around other customers, I spotted an employee in the soaps. I asked her for assistance. She told me she thought the product was upstairs. Instead of offering to locate it for me, she sent me back upstairs. I still could not locate it, so proceeded to checkout. There were three employees at the registers. When they asked if I’d found everything, I told them I was missing one item. They asked me if I had asked for help upstairs. I said no; the one employee upstairs was always occupied with other customers. (How was I to know, out of three floors of merchandise, that the item I wanted was upstairs, when similar items were downstairs?) A kind employee went up to get it for me.
There was a flyer in front of the cash register that stated if one spent over $50, they could get a pair of socks for free. The cashier informed me that offer was only available across the street. I had a Paddington bag already on my arm and was spending a good amount at this second location. I questioned why I had to go to their third location to get the deal. (I had picked out four pairs of this sock brand.) He said that was the policy. I didn’t buy the socks; I can purchase them from many other places for less. I understand wanting to promote business at the 3rd location; however, I had already located everything on my list between the 1st and 2nd location. I wasn’t about to spend another $50 to get free socks when I’d already spent over $200.

Read moreI was walking on Main Street to Sunday Afternoon and saw a pair of earrings on the ground. They were one of those bulk sets and a few were broken. But it has a price tag on it so I figured someone had just bought it. I pocketed them and continued shopping at different stores. 30 mins later, while in paddington station, I saw they were selling the same bulk earring set. I went to the front counter and asked if anyone had come in looking for that set of earrings. I figured I should try to get them back to the owner (even though some of the earrings were missing or broken). The front desk employee asked why and I showed them the pair I found. She said I should give it to her so they could resell it. I told them that sounded shady for them to make money on the same product again and I would rather just keep them so I could put them back where I found them. She said I needed to give it to them and I couldn’t keep them. She obviously thought I’d stole the set and made up this elaborate story so I could keep a broken set of 12 dollars earrings. I’m not a huge fan of being accused of theft so that a store can feel good about reselling earrings someone already bought. Additionally, everything in the store is way overpriced and the...
Read moreI like the concept of this string of stores. While they're all named Paddington Station, each store is its own separate location with its own theme and product inventory. The only thing is, that these store are all in Ashland, not far from the other.
There are two of the Paddington stores that I found more favorable than the other two and those stores are filled with more gifty type of items. I was able to find some novelty items that I had been looking for for myself as well as some items as gifts. And luckily several were on sale. Which helps when you're on a budget and your unplanned trip is well, unplanned.
These stores are located in the downtown shopping area of Ashland, OR and are filled with quirky, funky, off the beaten path trinkets, gadgets, kitchenware, kitchen items, housewares, fun themed housewares, they're just fun filled stores.
One of the stores is mostly Oregon themed and based items, from shoes, shirts, outdoor gear to magnets, and hats.
These stores are definitely something to experience when visiting downtown Ashland, they...
