Extremely disappointed. Maybe it’s our fault for having such high expectations. We had been so looking forward to coming here for a little over 2 weeks and it was beyond horrible. Upon arrival we were starving, nobody sat us. Period. (We had to walk to velvet taco after a certain point but we’ll just stick to this one experience of many last night). We approached the down stairs bar and asked if we could order food here and the bartender very rudely and nonchalantly said, “nah, gotta be sitting here”…. We looked back at the table 3 steps away from the corner of the bar and back at her and she just stared… SO, we moved past it and ordered the drinks we had been excited to try….. I ordered the “Breaking bad” and my girlfriend got the “pornstar”….. Let’s start here… As described in the picture below, both are supposed to contain “smoke/hemp smoke” to which neither did, the breaking bad was to be accompanied with a blue popsicle, to which it wasn’t nor was it presented in the mini chest as we had seen on some other reviews and all over IG. Being a bartender myself for 10+ years, I can without question say, my “Breaking Bad” was the worst tasting cocktail I’ve ever had. It seems it was made with straight bitters and the alcohol was possibly forgotten. It was so disgusting that I tried to get it down with two big gulps but gagged and had to push the drink away. We were needless to say very disappointed…. This bartender needs to be let go btw. She clearly was hired for aesthetics and could have given two shits about what she was doing and who she was servicing….. We press on. The 2 gentleman at the bar upstairs were very welcoming And did a decent job on the basic drinks we ordered upstairs. (Oh, their pornstar compared to the one downstairs was night and day difference)- how you can mess that up, seems to be very difficult. We start golf. It was great. It lived up to expectations until…. At one point I spotted some exit doors at the end of the course, I just went to peak out of the window, wasn’t trying to leave, and the security guard came over and aggressively told me I couldn’t go through there… we’ll leave that at that. I walked away. Regardless, pictured below is the worst tasting drink we’ve ever had made by the worst bartender I’ve ever encountered. Again, I’ve been a bartender for over 10 years. OH!!! And after 3-4 drinks, we went home and my girlfriend was VIOLENTLY sick for about 2 1/2-3 hours, we’re looking into this as I write this. Go to Dunwoody. We knew right away we had made a mistake with the...
Read moreLet me start by saying I do love this place. Fun place to play a quick game of mini golf. You have a choice of playing emerald, amber, sapphire and I think ruby. The games are all digitally tracked, so you can see your party's score. So yes no one can cheat. Absolutely love it!!! Their grilled Thai style octopus is delicious. The flat breads "pizza" is very good and they put a nice spin on flavor combinations. First time we visited we had good not great service. Though the guy at the emerald putting area was extremely helpful and took the time to help us get our balls and how to play. Since the games are tracked. The moment you place your ball down it recognizes you as a player. Again innovative! Now this last time we visited the service was lack luster. Once we walked in the two women at the hostess podium looked annoyed and just looked over at us. We decided we would eat first before playing. The place was not busy in the slightest. We informed the two that we needed a table. The one women did not give us eye contact. While the other said in a rude tone Do you have reservations. Now I understand they may deal with larger parties. You do put in a time slot for playing the games. Though the woman's demeanor came off as if we were bothering her and she didn't understand why we were there. We were seated and giving a menus and met our waitress. My boyfriend ordered the hamburger and fries. A gentleman but us our food and my boyfriend asked for ketchup. The young man said sure but we waited a good 10 minutes waiting. You can see into the kitchen and the guy was sipping on a drink. Laughing and carrying on with fellow employees and he forgot. I tried to flag down a waiter with no luck. I finally walked over to the kitchen area and asked a young thin woman for ketchup. She did not speak to me but just pulled a pre filled little saucer. I told her thank you. No response. She just nodded. No eye contact and again as if I was bothering her. The feel from the employees felt bothered and like a small child when asked to do chores. The experience was very disappointing and don't even ask about refills on a drink. It really makes me sad because this place is so cute and has such potential. I really wish their services was up to par. I don't want to deter anyone from checking this place out. Super cool atmosphere and innovative way to play mini golf. Also because the games are tracked it was very exciting that my name made it to the top players list at number 6. I was proud and had bragging rights the rest of...
Read moreI wanted to leave a fair review since this venue just opened. Also, keep in mind I went on a Friday night at 7:30pm and it was very busy.
Positives: The game itself. I made my reservation in advance and when I came in someone greeted me at the door and directed us to the screens that show which color course we would be on. I believe there's 4 total, with 9 holes each. We played the Amber course and had a blast. I loved the concept of using technology to keep track of scores and added creativity of bonus points for each hole. The food and drinks. After playing we decided to eat there and only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. I ordered the OG with fries and the Hennessy Island to drink and my girlfriend ordered the Atlanta Hot Chicken Sandwich with garlic fries and the Peach Tea on Peachtree. The OG burger was unique and flavorful and I wish I had ordered the garlic fries instead of the plain because they were amazing. The drinks were delicious and a fair portion for the price. Also, I love that they didn't skimp on the alcohol. Free game. By signing up for their perks I was able to get one free game.
Possible Negatives: Reservations. They were turning people away that had come to play by the time we finished playing our course. They said they had completely run out of time slots for golf, so it's definitely better to make a reservation in advance. Masks. Masks were not a requirement (we asked an employee and he said it was up to your discretion if you wanted to wear a mask). We chose to keep ours on while playing, but others did not. Considering how crowded it was, I wish it had been required at least in the course area. *They did leave every other table empty though in the dining area for safety reasons. Drink shortage. They ran out of at least 3 different drinks. Two of which I tried to order but was told they didn't have anymore. I was happy with the drink I got but was surprised they ran out. Maybe they were busier than they had expected to be though and this is something they'll adjust for in the future.
Overall, I was really happy with Puttshack and loved it for a date night. We had a lot of fun and felt the cost was reasonable ($4 for parking, $12 for golf since we had a free game, and our meal was around $60 with drinks...
