Read moreI will start by saying, I am leaving a review specifically for the Slingshot ride. I have not been able to find a place to review just that ride. Went to steel pier with my family on 8/3/24. My son and wife talked me into going on the slingshot ride with him. It’s an intense ride. They have a package that while it’s pricey, $100 for 2 riders, 2 shirts and a video (difficult to get the video but possible), it was worth it for the experience… or so I thought.
Everything was fine,we just came down from the ride. The man (foreign accent of some sort) ran up to me as I was undoing my safety belts and buckled them back in. Told me “okay, that was first time, this time keep hands up, this one free but keep hands up.” We get sent up the second time and come down. The guy runs up to me and undoes my belts “okay, $25 dollar for each, half off, she take care of you inside”
I never agreed or confirmed for a second ride. In fact, I took action that I was getting off the first time we landed. I told the woman and the guy I’m not paying because I never agreed or confirmed, he said ‘“ no, I tell you $25 each before you go up, you say okay, remember?” I said no, because that didn’t happened, you’re trying to hustle me and it’s sucking all the joy out of the experience.
I don’t know how the other rides are and the service but for the slingshot, just go to the one in ocean city if you can or there’s others, they aren’t...
Read moreParking was closeish. The parking meter was difficult and it took us some time to figure it out. The pier itself is very busy. We went on a Sunday night. Tickets were 80$/80 tickets or 1.75 a piece. Recommended for small children. There are height and weight limitations on most rides. The kiddies rides are close to the entrance and the further back you go is where you'll find some adult rides. Lots of Carnival type eats, but I had nachos for 15$ and they were edible, but not worth the price. Sodas are 4$. My kids loved the rides, and my husband and I enjoyed a couple ourselves. Just know the Ferris/observation Wheel is a separate cost. 12.75 a person. Air-controlled Gondolas. We did not ride yet. All in all I would say it was family-friendly and entertaining. I would recommend bringing a wagon to carry your young kids in. Checked out the Ferris wheel on the 2nd night. It goes around twice. It's 15$ per person and they take tourist photos. Great views, it's the 4th largest in the U.S., only complaint was the windows from the Gondolas was all condensation. Luckily the attendant fixed it on one side, wish they'd of done it on the other. Regardless we enjoyed and I wish I purchased the...
