Galaxy Theatres Austin — Attraction in Austin

Truly awful theater experience. The only good part were the comfy chairs.

The audio was turned down so low that me and my husband both struggled to hear what was happening on the screen, there was no bass or "oomph" to the audio we could hear and there was a giant dead pixel in the middle of the screen which looked like a blue dot (I included photos) distracting us the entire time. Not to mention their popcorn was extremely bland and flavorless, weird because I didn't think you could screw up movie theater popcorn.

When the audio of a movie is turned down super low you hear every other person in the movie theater doing every single thing, the guy two seats down playing with his straw in his drink incessantly, the woman next to you who clearly hasn't been to movie theater in a year and forgot etiquette so vocally gave a play-by-play of her opinion of every single scene... It was the least pleasurable theater experience I've ever had. Really sad because it was my first time going back to the movies in a year. Was also seeing a movie I have been looking forward to for over a year, Black Widow.

Went to see toy story 4 in 2D at this location this past sunday since I had got a coupon for a buy one ticket get another ticket free then another one for popcorn and drink in my parents mail which was pretty great but anyways it was great still little and nice like I have still remember since this was my first theater I had ever been too also or second theater I had ever been too was I was a baby but the only problem I had was where our theater was located at BC this girl that was working at the concession stand told me and my grampa that out theater was to the back which it wasn't cause I saw another movie poster there for a "flashback" movie that was gonna show at 12:00pm so I finally realized and told him that we were in the wrong theater so we hurried up the out actually theater then when we got in there we also realized that the screen wasn't that big or wide like I had remembered and not only that but the screen wasn't ever actually "digital" like I had said on their website also but the seat rows and comfort were pretty good tho can't blame that and the coupons we got also over the weekend...

I love Galaxy! It is not a huge theatre but it is less crowded than other movie theaters and the staff is very friendly. I have never had a bad encounter with the staff there. They have always been professional and I've been coming here for over 10 years. They recently renovated the inside and added an adult drink selection. I love their rewards program, it's free, after earning enough points, you get a free movie ticket or a discount on concessions. I think some of the reviews I've read exaggerated a bit. I've never been hot inside. If anything, it's freezing, like most movie theatres so bring a sweater. If people are talking and you're bothered by it, tell a staff member and they can take care of it. Overall I love this place. It has been there for years and the area around it is changing like everywhere else in Austin but they are trying to keep up with the changes and I love it.
