Noble 2500 — Attraction in Austin

DO NOT LIVE HERE. My roommates and I have lived here for ~1.5 years, and I say this full-heartedly: I would not wish this apartment on my worst enemy. We were supposed to move in August 2022; instead, we moved in at the END of January 2023.

Regardless of the emotional toll of the delayed move-in, it is not worth it to live here. When we moved in, we could immediately tell our furniture was cheap and something was deeply wrong with this building.

FIRSTLY, and most importantly, the MOLD in our vents. If I could write a review for this place with one word, it would be mold. Because we lived with mold, we had mold poisoning, and we were gaslit about said mold in our apartments. Our living room ceiling leaked when it rained, and we told the noble office. As expected, they did absolutely nothing. Until a hazardous-looking ORANGE mold appeared. In this case, they painted over our plastered ceiling with white paint. SO, if you are unlikely enough to be living in an apartment at Noble 2500 with paint over your ceilings, mold was there fyi. That is not the end of it though. We had black-green mold growing out of our kitchen vents. My bedroom and bathroom vents, and my roommate's bedroom and bathroom vents.

MOLD (continued.) - We were consistently sick the entire year. When we complained that there was possible black mold in our vents, they told us it was dirt. DIRT. From our vents. As soon as they “cleaned” GREW back in the same pattern they just cleaned. Is it dirt if it grows like a spore? My friends were stopped in the elevator by someone who had just moved in who was sick and said there was mold in her apartment. She didn’t know how much longer she could take medicine for.

CABINETS - The maintenance (at the time) told us almost all of our cabinets were installed incorrectly, and we routinely dealt with broken cabinets (even the day we moved out). Over and over again, maintenance would have to come and repair them, and they still broke.

OVEN - Our oven took forever to heat up. We had to purchase an oven thermometer to know the correct temperature of our oven. For anything we baked we had to triple the time (bread, vegetables, RAW meat) to cook everything fully.

CLOSET - My roommates with the master rooms had closets that would not fit hangers. Their closet could not close with a single hanger inside.

FLOOR - Our floor was tilted. Whenever we had guests over for the first time, we would play a game where we placed any cylindrical object on the floor and watched it accelerate rapidly in our living room, kitchen, and hallway. My father walked in and said he had vertigo because the apartment was so lopsided. The entire building was rushed to be built, and you can tell.

DUST - This apartment building has a serious ventilation issue. I had to dust my apartment weekly to try to help with this issue, but it felt useless. No matter what I did, everything was covered in dust. The electric sockets had dust INSIDE of them. The walls had dust bunnies on them. THE WALLS. Everything was covered in dust. I’ve lived in two apartment buildings (that are older than Noble 2500), and I never had this issue. This place is disgusting.

FIRE ALARMS - The fire alarms go off all the time, typically around 4 AM to 7 AM. Also, it happens way more in the summer. Probably because the heat is burning all the dust in the vents.

GYM - Everything in this building now requires a fob (Thank god b/c the security is god-awful) EXCEPT the gym. Random people would come in and use our gym, and we had the apartment right next door. You could hear the gym door slam more than people dropping weights.

WINDOWS - The only positive of this place is that the windows are huge. Unfortunately, Noble 2500 is located directly next to three frat houses. I’ve woken up to music from SAE at 7 AM a few times (often during finals week), and 311 does not help. Furthermore, SAE also throws water balloons at people walking by at night sometimes. So, if you’re walking back to Noble after class (say, a Wednesday), be on guard.

I LOVE living here and couldn’t recommend it enough! Management so far has been AMAZING. The staff is very friendly, and I genuinely feel a sense of “community,” which has not been the case in other apartments I’ve lived at in west campus.

I’ve looked into most of the apartments in the west campus area, and in my opinion, Noble is the best option for a luxury apartment option with more space. I lived in a high rise luxury apartment last year and had an okay experience (it was constantly dirty, very small for price point, etc). I am paying slightly less at Noble (for a smaller floor plan, 2x2 instead of 3x3) and there is just SO much more space. The kitchen has so much storage and a very large sink. It came with a GIANT tv. Even the washers and dryers are much higher quality, and have timers. I also really like the amount of drawers in the bathroom, as well as a large drawer in the desk.

The package locker system is very secure, which gives me peace of mind. There’s also a security guard on duty at night, FOB access points, and deadbolts on each apartment door so I’ve felt very safe here. Maintenance is incredible - every time we’ve had an issue, they have been there to fix it within HOURS!

Staff has been exceptional at keeping the place clean, which is one of the most important things to me when it comes to choosing an apartment because of how dirty many wampus apartments get. From what I’ve seen, I think the level of cleanliness is both due to management actually cleaning, AND I feel like the community here is just more respectful.

I went to one of the community events hosted by staff the first week, and had a really good time! Special thank you to Lynnsey and Andy for hosting, they are awesome!! You can truly tell that everyone that works here cares about the residents and has fun doing their job (but still does it exceptionally)

The building is 7 floors, which I was initially unsure about (I’ve only lived in larger, more lively apartments since going to UT), but I honestly prefer it. The amenities are way less packed, and so I’m able to actually enjoy them. I’ve also never spent a long time waiting for the elevators here. The gym is smaller, but it has the basics for a good workout, and an amazing view with floor to ceiling windows.

I think it’s a higher price point, which I think is definitely justified by the STELLAR management and luxury experience you get living here. They also have really good signing bonuses/discounts later in the year. I signed early at full price to guarantee my spot, which was worth it to me, but for people still looking for a place to live approaching/during summer time, you can get some really good deals (at least this past year).

There are SO many floor plan options for everybody. I love that each room has a window, and there are options for balconies!

My only “complaint” is that it is a little farther than some other apartments (for reference, I’m a business major so I’m on the other side of campus. Moody is closer!), but I’ve gotten used to the walk after 2 weeks, and it’s definitely worth it to live here! Initially I went in with the mindset of hoping to find somewhere closer to live next year, but I will most likely be resigning here :)

DO NOT SIGN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a current resident of Noble 2500 who signed a lease last year, and I am writing a review because of the constantly delayed building situation. I understand certain things are out of ownership control; however when I signed a contract with Noble, I was under the assumption that the contract would be honored – as contracts are. I am saddened to see that Noble 2500 has not kept up to their side of the contract time and time again. Last year, I signed a contract lease and paid a down payment for an apartment that was going to be ready in August. However, Noble 2500 violated that contract and gave us two living options to choose from. I do not remember signing a contract lease to live at the Moxy or “find my own accommodations,” but it seems some contracts are not meant to be upheld. I understand that there may have been delays in the building, and I waited patiently for the September 30th move-in date. What is disappointing is that not only did Noble violate the contract once, they have now violated it twice. I believe management is unprofessional in their handling and still making us pay for the Moxy hotel option when it is not our fault the building is delayed, which is entirely unacceptable.

As for the alternative options provided for us, I am not exactly sure how living in a hotel room with no kitchen, no study space, and no accommodations for a college student besides the basic bed and shower is even considered worth calling an “option.” The counter for finding our own accommodations and getting an “e–gift card” in compensation seems even worse, with the best case option being finding a sublease for a place that has none of the amenities, qualities, or features I looked for and paid for when I signed a lease at Noble 2500. Those who cannot find a sublease and would like some say in how they live are forced to find people they know to live with. Sleeping on other people’s couches, floors, hotel rooms, or apartments is not what I already paid almost $4,000 to Noble for. I did not choose to live at Noble and pay them to rent for the school year, only to not live there for months. I was given two dismal options to choose from that are jokes to call alternates in the first place. In honesty, it seems Noble residents haven’t been given much choice at all – something I find funny given that the residents are the ones giving the money TO Noble. Any clarity on the situation whatsoever – another thing we have been deprived of – would be appreciated. Management has failed to be professional, and I am very disappointed about this...
