Update: it’s been a little over a month. The way she thinned my hair in the back is some nasty work, why would you do that, no one asked you to thin my hair. The knots i get back there are absolutely insane. It is so uneven and ugly. Why did a “curl specialist” do this to my hair, incompetence or malice? Absolutely destroyed my self image, thanks so much for that. Wish i could sue yall for emotional damages but the courts don’t give a crap about this stuff 😩 anyways boooo 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
The first time my hair was ruined should have been it for me, but I decided to give ulta another chance. After malorie burned my scalp and melted all my hair off with bleach and heat, I let it grow out for a long time and nurtured it back to life. I let my beautiful natural curls grow out and come to life after years of suppressing them with a straightener. I came back to get a cut after a pretty long time to fix the shape and get damage off. The first two times with Kim were pretty good and I thought she did a good job. This last time I asked her for a trim, to cut as little as possible off, and maybe throw in some little layers to add a bit of volume if she thought it would look good. Well she cut like 8 inches off the front of my hair and gave me the shape that I told her I specifically don’t like, there aren’t really layers and I saw her thinning it in the back, which my curls don’t appreciate. Just awful. I couldn’t even believe it was happening as it happened. I kept smiling and internally telling myself “maybe it’s not as short as you think,” and I rebooked and paid and left and then got to my car and really looked at it and… This is literally the ugliest haircut I have ever had in my life. It is so unflattering to my face shape. I got home and bawled my eyes out. I literally was so upset I called and spoke to the manager, went back and got a refund. I’ve never done that before. I’ve never even complained before. But this was just the last straw for me. And the manager was trying to gaslight me the entire time and tell me there was “miscommunication on both sides,” which is just crazy to me. How do you misinterpret “please cut as little off as possible, I want to keep my length. My length is very important to me. Please don’t cut much off.” ???????????? And the manager kept trying to tell me about her own hair like, okay? That’s literally irrelevant?? Your stylist chopped all my hair off after I specifically asked her not to, stop trying to tell me it’s my fault somehow. Like, that’s gross. Anyways, whatever. I got my money back. But i’m still mad. I feel violated. You took my entire year’s worth of growth. And it’s just gone. I cried for three days and every time I see myself in the mirror it makes me angry and I want to cry some more. I don’t understand why she would do this to me. It just feels cruel. There’s nothing anyone could do to make me feel better about this. Just an utter...
Read moreStopped in today to grab one of the limited edition Pokémon ColourPop items and was immediately reminded why I stopped shopping at Ulta 10 years ago and won't resume shopping here, especially this location. Unfortunately the items weren't all online so I had to go in person to the store.
I went mid-afternoon, so barely any customers were in the store. 3 associates (including someone who looks like a manager) behind the counter and one who may have been behind the counter but then was helping a customer by the time I went to check out. I wasn't in the store long, because I b-lined to the Pokémon display. I was greeted when I walked in but no one asked if I needed assistance (I would have loved to ask when items were being restocked) but a great sales associate could have come up, talked up the products and seeing as how most were gone, could have tried to talk me into coming back when they restock or helping me order online. I was also debating on getting a few items but talked myself out of it. I guess they didn't care about talking me into it.
Anyways, I went to check out. No one else was in line or waiting, so I stepped to the front of the waiting line. 2 of the associates still behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me. They seemed to be in the middle of a convo but could have looked up and said "she'll be right with you", referring to the 3rd associate who was slowly walking back to behind the counter. She also could have said something to me but didn't acknowledge me. When she got to the register, she quietly and passively said "are you ready?". I had to pry and ask about if/when items would be restocked. It was just a weird and cold interaction, and reminds me why I wouldn't shop here unless it was...
Read moreYou wrote a review for Ulta Beauty 17 hours ago 1.0 star rating 1/26/2019 I bought a bottle of perfume ($52) at Ulta Gateway Shopping Center today in Austin, TX. Opened what appeared to be brand new completely sealed packaging 5 minutes later in my car in the parking lot - and it was a completely empty bottle. Immediately went back inside the store to return it and have my money refunded. The so-called manager (a kid) didn't believe me and intimated several times I returned my own used empty bottle. Would not refund my money even with the receipt dated and timed 5-minutes earlier. Basically said I was lying. Look at the tapes of your outside security cameras. My car was parked right in front of the store. Clearly, the bottle completely leaked during production or shipping. There is no other explanation for this - even the inside packaging of the box was stained. Look ---- I am 63 years old, affluent, educated with a PhD, and don't need to swindle a cheap cosmetic store out of $52, nor do I have any desire to do so. She finally relinquished and credited my debit card when I was calling my bank right in front of her to dispute the charge. Will never step foot in that store again. You do business with a cheap store - you get cheap help and cheap customer service.
NO NEED for a lip service response from the owner. NOTHING can assuage the insulting and low-class interaction of...
