The place and options are not bad but we were served a stale item and the business was unwilling to refund or replace it or offer any kind of apology and ounce of customer service. This mostly reflects on management who are unfortunately putting their employees (probably mostly young college students) in a terrible position when a customer has an issue versus empowering them to make the customer’s experience a great one. Not the type of place I will continue giving my business and neither should you, when there are so many great places in town who understand great customer service. the cold fluorescent lighting and soulless grey interior made me feel like i was in a hospital, but honestly hospital food is probably better. Ordered the tomato and mozzarella sandwich and my friend ordered a pupusa. the two best words to sum up her experience were “cardboard and mush.” As for me, I can’t even begin to imagine how anyone could produce the heinous texture and lack of flavor. the cheese was flavorless, tough, and chewy, like eating play dough. it’s truly miraculous that this place has managed to stay open thus far, although i’m sure they don’t have many repeat...

I’m new to Austin and I’ve been wanting to try Centro ever since I started school. I finally had a chance to come and try it today and needless to say, I’m so happy I did! The decorations are so cute and home-y, the lighting is perfect, the customer service is wonderful, and the food is DELICIOUS!! I ordered an Agua Fresca (Jamaica) and a birria and cheese pupusa. My food came out hot, fresh, and at a reasonable price and speed. Pupusas are a dish from my culture and I was very pleased with the way they serve them here.
