University Baptist Church — Attraction in Austin

The issue of homosexuality or more specifically its status in the Bible is likely never going to be decided once and for all to the satisfaction of all churches. When the church ordained a "monogamous"gay deacon in the 1990s long before gay marriage was a modern day reality, the staff pastor to college students was either fired or resigned in protest. He had a sizable gaggle of UT students who left as well. The departure of those young dissenters (most of whom were from more mainstream fellowships) actually cleared the way for the church to become what it is either condemned or celebrated for to this very day. But like minded folks should worship together and divergent opposing views about the Bible is why we have Protestantism and a zillion denominations. It was Chesterton who famously said where orthodoxy is not mandatory it soon becomes optional and an individual or a group's movement down (or at least along) the continuum of tolerance, acceptance, affirmation, celebration of any perceived vice is a swift journey. If you set aside the church's status as a bullhorn platform for or adjunct to all things LGBTQ you still have folks collectively serving as the hands and feet of our Lord. I think some would term UBC a church which was "woke" before anyone else even grasped...

After reading the “doctrine” taught by this church, I can say I’m truly saddened, disgusted, upset by the gross negligent and flat out falsehoods that are not only accepted here but encouraged.

Woe to those who lead these little ones astray. That’s not an exact quote but I can say it’s actually scripture.

There is a remnant left in this country but it will not be found within the walls of this building.

I pray for true repentance, and light to be shown on the darkness that seems to have befallen the western church.

There are 2 genders. Man and woman. One God and his word will not return void.

May Jesus Christ lead you into actual truth and give a chance to be brought back into the light and away from the darkness that has been allowed control of what was once an organization that worshipped Jesus Christ. An organization that at one time lead others into truth. An organization that ar one time stood for righteousness, but now stands for all that is an abomination is...

Wonderful place, this church feeds the unhoused and those in need as well, every Thursday by 5:30 pm, kind and courteous ppl, the pastor Natalie and the U.T. college campus volunteers serving the food and washing dishes are truly God's servants not to mention all the other workers who cooked,(shout out to fatty), and cleaned up after the diners..pastor Natalie is a very thoughtful, compassionate,God fearing woman,who is approachable and very kind, if you so happen to show up to eat or volunteer and are in need of some kind of assistance, please don't forget to ask for other resources in or around the city, this church sits within an alley way across from the target as locals will direct you,, not to worry, you are surrounded by college kids neighborhoods, it's a safe...
