Beautiful church with a rich history and a diverse congregation of lovely people. I am proud to have such a wonderful church in my neighborhood. I appreciate the support they provide to the community. However when you give free food and/ or services to the public try to wholeheartedly give your best. For the Bible says; Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) - “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” I feel like I’m treated indifferently when I refuse the unhealthy food items being rationed although I understand that these items could brighten another person’s day. The volunteers are very territorial and judgmental. I imagine that they’re saving the best for themselves. They will look you in the face and hand you decaying vegetables with a smile. I say this with love and respect. People shouldn’t be treated like trash and made to stand outside in the rain for a bag of random groceries. It’s hard for folks and we don’t want to seem ungrateful for the help but it’s also painful to have to throw away food that was rotten when it was given to us. I know that it is not easy. I wish nothing but the best for all who are involved in this program and I pray that they will continue but consider the importance of giving with their heart. Perhaps offer canning and pickling workshops that show people how to preserve food. Knowledge is power.

I have attended First and Franklin since 2005 and it has really deepened my faith and sense of service. It is an imposing building on the outside, but the people and the love for God on the inside is so much warmer and more comfortable. We have a top notch choir and our Sunday worship service is great for visitors as the bulletin, hymnal, and a handshake are all you need. We have so much history going back to before the Revolution and we support a recovery house, Habitat for Humanity, CARES, Health Care for the Homeless and other local, national and international causes. ...

There are not enough kind words to say about the First & Franklin congregation of generous, engaged, quirky, supportive, prayerful, passionate, reflective, educated and loving friends. I have felt welcomed from my first introduction to the church. If you are looking for something new, join us. You will find new friends, and you will be overwhelmed by the spectacular music program and beautiful setting of this amazing architectural wonder under the tallest steeple...
