I never write reviews but this is one I feel needs to be said. I was there for the Post Malone meet and greet last night and to say it was disappointing would be an understatement. Post Malone was amazing and so sweet and this is nothing against him. This is all in the way that Sound Garden handled this event. They sold 600+ preorder tickets to this event. They said the line would start promptly at 10. Some people even asked if they should be there earlier than that since sometimes fans will be there hours ahead of time and sound Garden even assured them that the line wouldn’t start until 10 so there was no need to come earlier than that. I got there at 9:30 and the line was already at least two blocks long. Come midnight post Malone shows up and we’re excited to finally get in the doors. Except they were only letting people in a few at a time and there were long periods of time where the line never moved. We waited 7.5 hours before we even got into the event (not to mention the time it took to go through the line inside). The whole time we were waiting people were coming out with posters and stickers and signed albums (even though the event said no signing) and people were talking about how much time he spends with people and how worth it the wait was going to be. He was shot gunning beers with people and FaceTiming peoples families… all while HUNDREDS of people are still waiting outside. Oh and they had their bathrooms locked so no one could use them even though people were waiting for several hours, I had to hold it for 4+ hours until I finally found somewhere around the corner that graciously let me use their bathrooms even though they were not supposed to be for the public. Cut to 4:30 am and we finally get in, they are now saying no selfies, no autographs, I couldn’t even talk to post for 10 seconds without someone yelling at me to move along. I don’t mind a quick meet and greet, I’ve been to ones like that before. But there’s no reason people at the front should have gotten 15+ minutes with him knowing there was hundreds and hundreds of people still waiting outside. Time spent with fans should have been uniform. If you couldn’t handle the long amount of time post wanted to spend with each fan then you should have not sold as many entries to the event. Not to mention the staff was extremely rude by time I got in there, I understand they were tired but so were the people who had to wait outside in the heat with no bathroom and I was still nice to them so that’s no excuse. They are even deleting social media comments and blocking users calling them out respectfully for how the night was handled. And to see responses on here like “sorry we had to get everyone to meet him in 7 hours” then you should not have let people in the front of the line have that much time or just not sold as many tickets. There’s no excuses.
Edit: so you’re not gonna tell him how long to spend with fans at the beginning of the line but by time the middle to end of the line gets in there that’s when you decide you can rush him and tell him how long to spend with fans. Your own excuse doesn’t even make sense. The way you guys have handled this situation is DISGUSTING. I would expect more from such a historic and reputable company in Baltimore. I was going to come back and shop one day but this has completely turned me off from this business and I will not be...
Read more(Edit: Despite the nasty owner response, my accounts of past awful customer service are 100 percent truthful and accurate. I actually tried contacting management about both incidents. No response. Any public response should have been a long the lines of "You're right. We messed up, but give us another chance." I'm not hard to please, but this store made me feel awful as a customer twice, and the owner response lends me to believe these weren't outliers.)
Two instances (one awhile back, and one fairly recently) with horrible customer service. For a store that claims to have started Record Store Day, they sure do zero to make it pleasant for those who wait for hours in line, especially single visitors, like Celebrated Summer does. Last time I went to Sound Garden for Record Store Day, (which was admittedly awhile back) there was no checking on people in line. They were letting people from large groups take turns going in to shop because the store wasn't fully devoted to Record Store Day, and people could leave their groups in line to come in and make non-RSD purchases. Doing this just made the line insanely longer. The group in front of me did it repeatedly as I waited for hours and when they finally made it to the front of the RSD line, oops, their friend was still inside doing non-RSD shopping. No worries from the guy at the door. He'd just let her in when she came back to the line. Devote the whole store to RSD, and treat the fans right. Check on them. Especially singles. See if anyone needs a bathroom break or has questions. Have contests. Snacks. Very poorly done. Another time I was in the store and found an employee at the record stacks. I was thirty seconds in to describing what I was looking for and instead of ANY response, or saying another employee might be a better help, the guy cut me off mid-sentence to cue someone else to help me, without even acknowledging anything I had just said to him. I actually called him out on it, which I'm never bold enough to do, and walked out. Two strikes from this place. Seriously, go to Celebrated Summer instead. Always great customer service and conversation, even when they're deservedly busy. (I'll sure to tell them hi from the folks at SG next time I make a...
Read moreI think it's hilarious you guys deleted all the comments putting y'all on blast. Something should 100% be reimbursed for what we all went through last night at the Post Malone meet and greet. 10 was supposed to be an album release party and that never happened. When I asked about it the employee walking the line said there was no such thing and I told him maybe he should check this flyer where it clearly says there is. We didn't start to go in until after midnight which mind you this was beyond OVERSOLD. I got there at 9 PM and I didn't get through until 4:40 AM. While standing in line I seen multiple people coming out saying and showing they got selfies and all their merch signed, even got to FaceTime their families for Post to sav hi. Once I finally got inside I was told I couldn't get merch until after the meet so therefore he couldn't sign it, unfair. I finally got up to meet him and he ran to the bathroom.. as quickly as he left all the staff frantically began going around telling us all no more selfies, and no signing because the artist is tired and they want to respect him... unfair. We got a professional photo which we don't get for 2 days and when I was talking to him the staff was bevond rude and unprofessional rushing everyone it was insane. We also didn't get posters like the rest of the line did... unfair again. Just say you guys overbooked it and the staff was tired because Post was fine and I don't think he'd appreciate you telling his fans to hurry up. Not to mention the parking lot for the venue was closed and I had someone with me who is handicap and was forced to walk a bit of a distance which is beyond ignorant. To top it all off YOU GUYS CLOSED THE BATHROOMS!!! There were 600+ people waiting outside for 7+ hours which is ridiculous to begin with Everyone in the line should've gotten the same treatment whether they were first in line or last. Posty was an absolute sweet heart but the staff here was a big pass....
