This was an absolutely wonderful ride. Captain Matt is full of information and stories.. definitely was the highlight of the ride! Plenty of places to sit and nice scenery on the trip. Drinks are affordable but your options are limited to cans or bottles of wine so don’t expect a full bar here. Food was decent, but your mileage may vary based on expectations or who is catering your trip. If you’re nice, Captain Matt will let you drive.. but be warned that you might end up with a selfie (attached here) if you let him take pictures 😂. Would highly recommend this trip if you’re in the area, as it was a wonderful time!

This is a great experience and adventure. The boat trip is a pleasure. The staff is always so helpful and accommodating. The narration along the way is very informative and interesting. We always enjoy the ride going either way, up or down river. Many thanks to the sponsors for making this experience possible. We have also been on their special trips and experienced wonderful treatment as well. Thank you management, staff and sponsors.

Took our Mom on an afternoon float on the Princess Wenonah yesterday, 7/27/24. It was my Moms first time on the river and she was a little apprehensive UNTIL she got on. My brother and I loved it but Mom (who is 76) ABSOLUTELY had a blast. She loved seeing everything from the river as well as all of the history with the tour. We will definitely be taking another float. Thank you all for the beautiful afternoon.

We took our grandson on the Historical Boat Tour on July 10, 2025. Thank you to the Fireworks Committee and Bay City Boat Lines! I do wish there were a couple of handicapped parking spaces near the dock, but we were able to park nearby so it worked out. The staff was great and the trip itself was very interesting. We had been on the dinner cruises in the past, but the narration was fun. My ONLY concern was with other passengers. I wish that when the deck hands walked through to check on things they would have taken a few seconds more to walk along the railings to be sure people were behaving safely. Walking up the steps, around the pilot house, and back down the steps isn't enough. There was a young couple with two sweet little girls right at the railing. The girls had their heads hanging through the railings as they stood on the bottom one. The parents were totally engrossed in their phones and ignored the children. In today's world, I was afraid to approach them because you just never know how people will react. I kept trying to get the attention of the deck hand, but we were seated in the center of the boat and he never saw me. Due to my inability to move quickly, I couldn't catch up with him. This is not a criticism of the staff or volunteers of Bay City Boat Lines, just an observation that...

Absolutely Amazing Bay City Boat Ride Tour!

We had the BEST time on our boat ride history tour in Bay City, MI! From the moment we stepped on board, we felt welcomed and cared for. The captain came right up to us and asked the 3 magic questions about our service dog (which made us smile!), and you could tell right away—he truly knows his stuff. His knowledge of the area and the stories he shared made the ride both fun and fascinating.

The staff was just as incredible—so friendly, helpful, and full of positive energy. The boat itself was spotless and super inviting. We were really impressed by how clean and comfortable everything was.

And let’s talk about the snacks! We enjoyed every bite and sip—especially my bottled margarita. Yes, they had those, and yes, it was DELICIOUS!

We truly loved every minute of this experience and are already planning to do it again. If you're in Bay City, don’t miss this ride—it’s an unforgettable experience from...

All the positive reviews are true. My 11 year old son and I went on the morning weekday history trip. Thanks to the sponsors it was free. We were both excited to hear the history but now we just feel sorry for paying customers.

As other reviews have stated as long as TWO years ago, your speaker system is inadequate and poor quality. Because of that (and the rudeness of passengers talking) all the good narrative was drowned out or inaudible. And, your staff recognizes the problem but they can't fix it. Only management can fix that.

If your speaker system is effective, people might shut up and listen. It was generally disappointing for us. Had we paid, we would be requesting a refund. Please, this is a SIMPLE problem and easy to fix. Poor public image, especially for tourists who have paid money and driven here specifically to try...
