520 Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bellevue

Agree with some other 1-star review givers - I wish I could leave 0 stars or maybe even minus. We went there on Friday 9/20. I don't remember the waitress' name. She checked everybody's ID one by one because we went there basically for drinks. We are all over 21 years of age and have valid ID that proves it. My ID was checked and returned very quickly, and then one of my friends provided hers. The waitress took her ID away to "get more light to better read" and brought her ID to another staff - maybe a manager. It took them a while to discuss and keep pointing to our table from 10 feet away. The different staff came to my friend and told her that they couldn't verify her ID. I tried to help out because my friend's ID was just like mine - issued on the same year. The staff refused to check again or consider our explanation with a very tough and unpleasant attitude. My friend ended up not getting any drinks. It was upsetting and it made us speechless. It was just her normal ID that got used every day! The waitress showed up again afterwards. She took our orders and then brought me a drink that didn't taste anything like the one I actually ordered. I asked her politely and she was obviously not very happy about my question. After checking with the bar, she told me that she put the wrong drink for my order and then she brought me the correct one. The drink itself - correct one I ordered - was not tasty. I don't blame the waitress for the taste of the drink, but she also brought me the wrong check with the first wrong drink listed on there - no big difference, only 1 dollar. She said "Oh it's JUST an one dollar difference, I can change it for you if you want." I got too disappointed about the overall experience in there. I didn't want to deal with them even one more second at that moment. I paid the wrong price and tips. End of story. I will never go back there. I don't recommend this...

I rarely write negative reviews—my profile speaks for itself—but our experience at 520 Bar & Grill was the worst customer service my husband and I have had in Bellevue. Upon arrival, I had my small Yorkie on my lap while sitting on the patio. Out of nowhere, a staff member came over yelling at me in front of the entire patio, saying it was a code violation. I was completely unaware, and while I respect the rules, there are much more professional and polite ways to deliver that kind of message. Instead, I was embarrassed in front of everyone as the patio went silent, watching the interaction. Not long after, the patio umbrella above us started collapsing. My husband and the table next to us tried to fix it for 5 minutes, but the server’s solution was to simply close the umbrella entirely—leaving us baking in the 80-degree sun with our meals and wine. When we mentioned we were hot and would finish quickly, his response was, “me too.” The food itself was just okay, but the service and overall experience were enough to ruin the visit. The food was good. I liked the steak, my friend like the lamb burger which apparently is very famous and my wife liked her Sandwich as well. So no problems there. Then why only 1 star. It's the service. Looked like the waiter (didn't get his name, wish I did) was having a very bad day. Looked impatient, restless and rude. We ordered a Salad and clearly asked for no meat but it came with Bacon. When we pointed it out, the waiter was in such a denial that we didn't ask for it and he couldn't read our minds that we wouldn't have meat. He literally said it. Since the salad has to remade anyways, because the salad would still have the bacon smell (and removing the bacon from the salad wouldn't solve the problem), we asked if we could order something else instead and his response was "Oh my God", as if he couldn't belive what we were doing to him. At this point I am like, why am I even sitting there and eating. But since I came with my friends whom I was meeting after a long time, I didn't want to spoil the evening. Ideally I would have liked to visit again and try out the other items in the menu but I don't want to be treated like that again. Bad...
