What a fantastic experience with Action Tours Zipline Big Bear! Reservations and scheduling were seamless for a 1:00 PM tour. Arrived a little early and were greeted by Zach and weighed in. After a brief safety video we were transported by Brett to the zipline area, about a 20 minute drive through some gorgeous country. Brett, gave us information about the surrounding area and some of the notable landmarks. Upon arrival at the zipline area we were greeted by Jules, our driver and photographer for our elevated adventure. We slowly made our way up into the zipline area through the San Bernardino National Forest. Once at the zipline station we were greeted by Draeden and Jordan, our zipline guides. We got geared up, given a safety briefing and Draeden demonstrated the first (short) zipline for the group. As each member of the group got hooked onto the steel zipline cable the look on everyone's face was priceless and the smile widened as we each pushed off, flying through the trees. As you came into each successive zipline tower you are always hooked to a cable or steel loop on the tower. The manner in which Draeden and Jordan were able to do this with our group was like a Swiss watch. No one ever felt pressured and the safety consciousness of our guides was second to none. As we made your way through nine (9) ziplines the views were incredible and Jules took pictures of our group the whole time. After the 7th zipline, there's a quick water break and the final two ziplines are their longest and fastest ziplines. During the Fall they do a pumpkin smash on the weekends whereby you're given a small pumpkin and you can drop it while flying across the two longest ziplines. There are marked targets on the ground. Because it was only Thursday, Jordan grabbed pine cones for everyone to give it a try. What a blast trying to hit a target while suspended 80 feet in the air flying at speeds of 35-40 mph. Once we completed the tour we were taken back to the van and enjoyed the leisure drive back Action Tours home office. Within a few minutes we were given tablets to view the photos Jules took of everyone during the tour. We came up to Big Bear for my son's birthday trip and the memories we created will last a lifetime. Thank you Zach, Brett, Jules, Draeden and Jordan you all made our first full day in Big...
Read moreWe recently planned a family trip to Big Bear and booked a tour with Big Bear Zipline for a very special celebration involving multiple family birthdays. Unfortunately, due to a mistake on our end when marking our calendar, we missed our original booking date. We absolutely acknowledged and took full responsibility for the error, and respectfully reached out to Big Bear Zipline to explain the situation and see what options were available to salvage the experience.
As shown in the attached screenshots, we approached the situation kindly, respectfully, and understanding that businesses must balance policies with customer service. We shared that we were not asking for a free experience, but simply hoped for some understanding given the circumstances and the significant payment we had already made. They claimed we missed all “emails” and “phone calls “, when we’ve only received one email the day we ordered the tickets (2 months ago) and one phone call on our way here from Vegas, which was 10 min. before the tour. Despite our efforts to find a middle ground, the business remained firm, reiterating that although they “have compassion,” they would not accommodate further without additional payment. While we respected their right to enforce their policy, the interaction felt very transactional, and sadly did not reflect the spirit of hospitality we had hoped for when planning a meaningful family trip.
In the end, it may have been a blessing in disguise. We explored other activities around Big Bear that felt incredibly welcoming, fun, and family-oriented — experiences that created beautiful memories we will cherish for a lifetime.
We share this review not out of anger, but to offer honest feedback: mistakes happen, and sometimes, a little flexibility and kindness could leave a much bigger, positive impact on families looking to create...
Read moreMy family of 9 booked the zipline tour 2 months ago. Admittedly we made a mistake and drove 4 hours into town the day of, thinking we arranged for the next day. Of course, we missed our experience. I called the staff upon arrival. The initial conversation was very professional, staff was reasonable and offered to present the matter to their owner for possible rescheduling. I was then put on the phone with their boss Alexis, and the conversation took a sharp turn. Alexis was standoffish and rude before I can even get a word out. She started off by saying how we received multiple email confirmations, (there was only 1 sent 2 months ago to 1 person in our party of 9) phone calls, (missed 1 call while driving into town the DAY OF), and other prior notice (which I lack to find anywhere in my phone. I admitted a sincere apology for the honest mistake of marking a calendar wrong, and the first words from the owner’s mouth are “No refunds and no rescheduling” with questionable tone. Our conversation ended with her stating she will speak with staff to see if rescheduling is possible, she has not responded or answered my call. It seems that greed has taken over the owners mind. Quite a way to impress first time customers who paid over $1000, we will never be coming back.
Side note: experience was booked for 11 AM. I called at 1 PM in town, 2 hours to find reasonable compromise, and was met with this adversary from the owner.
I have not received a notice to reschedule or partial refund. The kids are devastated.
On the bright side, there’s many other activities to do in Big Bear. I’m sure to find a humble patron...
