One of the reasons I like shopping at TJ Maxx/Home Goods is because it's a low pressure shopping environment. But today was completely different. I was in the store maybe 30 minutes and was offered the "rewards" card 3 times. That's ridiculous. When I put my items on the checkout table the woman made the speil, making sure to never say it's a credit card, which it is. She also made sure to never say apply or if you're approved. We told her then we weren't interested. At the end of ringing up our items she tries to get our information to "get (us) signed up for the rewards program" again never mentioning it's a credit card, applying or getting approved. Luckily we are frequent shoppers and know it's a credit card or we could have been swindled into "signing up" for one. When we were walking away the same woman proceeds to complain about coworkers to the other cashier. Oh and while we were checking out she responded to someone on the radio saying they were busy with customers and had a line so they couldn't come help on the floor...there wasn't a line and both me and the woman checking out next to us only had a couple of items. Luckily, I'm moving, but typically after this type of "service" I...
Read moreI went to check out at TJ Max and when the cashier rang up my sale it was way higher than I expected. When I questioned the amount it was determined a comforter I purchased had two price tags and I had not noticed the higher one. A employee from the bedding department told the cashier to honor the lower price and walked away. Then I was told by another employee that a customer had apparently changed the price tag and the store would not honor the price then proceeded to pull the lower price tag off the item destroying it. At this point I asked to speak to the manager who also indicated the price tag had been tampered with by a customer and TJ Max would not honor the price on the comforter. I asked the cashier to verify the employee from the bedding department had said to honor the price and she said she was not sure. I was so embarrassed and humiliated standing at the register with three TJ Max employees announcing the price had been tampered with on the item I was trying to purchase and making me feel like a thief. I will never shop at TJ Max again and plan to tell everyone I know (who by the way know I have good character) about the incident and hopefully they won't shop...
Read moreWent into the Blue Springs location approximately an hour before closing, was immediately followed when we walked in by a female worker who had a long grey sweater or cardigan on with blonde hair. She followed me and my mother throughout the store and even stared at us while we were shopping. I couldn’t shop comfortably because this employee was down every aisle I wanted to go to and would just act like she’s fixing a shelf or returning an item, even though she had nothing in her hands at all times. I even tried to maintain the 6 feet distance, but she continued to follow my every move, making it IMPOSSIBLE to maintain the social distancing and making me feel even more uncomfortable and feeling unsafe. Basically this employee wouldn’t leave the same area of the store as us until we went to the checkout. Overheard another employee say “can you go check out kitchen” and then minutes later I see out my peripheral someone start to enter the aisle we’re in and stop and stare at us. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had. Definitely felt like profiling and they didn’t act...
