Visited Boston, Massachusetts in 2023—what a gorgeous city! 💙🏙️ So much to explore! My highlights were wandering through Little Italy and the stunning Boston Public Library. Ate the best lasagna of my life and tried the iconic Boston cream pie at the historic Omni Parker Hotel—their most famous dessert! #Boston #Travel #LittleItaly #BostonCreamPie #OmniParkerHotel

The Omni Parker House is a historic gem that seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern luxury. Known as the birthplace of the iconic Boston Cream Pie, the Parker House Roll, and Boston Scrod, this venue offers more than just a dining experience—it's a journey through time and culinary history. The Boston Cream Pie, although delightful, may surprise those expecting the modern interpretation. The original recipe, served here, is more about subtle sweetness and a light, breaded texture than the richer, cream-laden versions commonly found today. It’s a nostalgic treat, though, that perfectly complements the atmosphere of this storied establishment. Walking into the Omni Parker House feels like stepping back into the late 19th century. The richly adorned interiors, warm lighting, and echoes of history give the restaurant an ambiance that’s both elegant and inviting. Whether you're seated in one of its iconic dining rooms or the famed whiskey bar, the environment transports you to an era of classic hospitality. Under the expertise of Executive Chef Gerry Tice, the menu celebrates its legacy while incorporating contemporary flair. From the melt-in-your-mouth Parker House rolls to thoughtfully crafted main courses, every dish is a nod to the hotel's illustrious history. Diets might indeed take a back seat as you indulge in the comforting, hearty flavors this restaurant is known for. Beyond its culinary offerings, the Omni Parker House holds cultural significance. Its storied history includes contributions from notable figures like Ho Chi Minh and Malcolm X, who were part of its staff during their formative years. Add to this the culinary legacies of chefs like Emeril Lagasse, Lydia Shire, and Jasper White, and you have a destination that feels as much a museum of gastronomy as it does a fine dining venue. For visitors to Boston, the Omni Parker House isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Whether you're savoring a slice of the original Boston Cream Pie or raising a glass at the whiskey bar, this iconic destination is a must-visit for those who appreciate history, fine dining, and timeless charm.

We stay at Omni hotels all over the US and it’s always top notch. The Omni Parker House has its pro and cons Pros: service was impeccable. Always helpful for check in and check out. The building itself inside is very beautiful and historic. Great history in the building. Location is amazing. So many historic buildings and great places to eat. We did the Freedom trail and it had most of the sites blocks away from it. Restaurants were close too and were great. Hub Pub bar around the corner is a great place to meet people and have a nice drink. It’s labeled the friendliest bar in Boston and I agree. Wife and I had a blast. The hotel room bed was so comfortable. I slept like a baby and the mattress was like laying in a cloud. Cons: Before I go into the cons, I understand the hotel is old but the following is no excuse if you consider yourself a 4 star hotel. The room decor was awful. Wallpaper peeling off the wall. The ceiling plaster was coming off and flaking. The mirror has rust on it and peeling. The mirror!! See pics. I have seen better rooms at a roadside motel. This room made a Holiday Inn seem like the 4 Seasons. The bathroom itself is just terrible. Very small and no room to put anything. Shower pressure was non existent. Looking back, wife and I should have left immediately but we were there for our anniversary and decided we weren’t spending any time there. Getting ready in the small bathroom was a challenge. The bed was the saving grace of the room. See attached pictures. If this room is a representation of the other rooms in the hotel then they need to reevaluate their 4 stars. Location and service were great. Historic and pretty lobby. Room was terrible. Next time we’ll stay elsewheret. Love Omni hotels but these room conditions are not their typical standard.

AVOID THIS HOTEL!! I strongly advise against staying at the Omni Parker Hotel. At nearly $400 a night, it’s shocking how subpar the experience was—honestly, it felt worse than a Motel 6. While the lobby gives a good first impression, the rooms are in dire need of renovation. We requested a king room but were given a coat closet with a FULL bed in it. The condition of the room was horrific: massive blood stains on the mattress, holes in the duvet, peeling wallpaper, shoddy ceiling repairs from past leaks, dirty carpets, and an old bathtub with chips. To make matters worse, the AC was motion-activated, so after just 15 minutes, it cranked up to an uncomfortable 75 degrees, making it impossible to sleep well. Our stay was further disrupted by a worker strike that began on our first morning at 7am that lasted the three days that we were there. Hotel staff were shouting over loudspeakers, banging on buckets, and blocking entrances, which created an unbearable atmosphere for paying guests all while hotel services were VERY limited due to lack of staff. While I empathize with their frustrations about working conditions, it made for a very unpleasant experience for everyone involved. As a business owner myself, I believe in the importance of profit, but charging top dollar for a rundown property is simply greedy. With some much-needed investment in renovations, this hotel could be so great, especially given its prime location. Improving the conditions for both guests and employees would make a world of difference. Shame on you, Omni Parker Hotel. You can—and should—do better!

The hotel overall has a classy feel. The EMPLOYEES are very attentive to guests and very friendly (which kinda' even tells you it must be nice to work there.) THE ROOMS are adequate but they are small. And if you have one of those bathroom travel containers that has a hook to hang on a door - you want to pack that because the BATHROOM has a pedestal sink and no countertop at all so - no space for your stuff. HOT WATER is very hot and comes right away and plenty of pressure. The AC/HEAT was responsive and kept the room a good temperature but it was unusually loud and inconsistent. It did not have the option for the fan to stay on constant so it was on and off all night and woke me up a bit. Noteworthy: They invented BOSTON CREAM PIE here! So get some while you're there! There is a GIFT SHOP/COFFEE SHOP in the lobby which has useful stuff. We were traveling from FL to the frigid north and I was a little unprepared and they had hats/gloves/scarves in the gift shop. Handy! The coffee shop is a Starbuck's so you can easily get decent coffee in the morning since the in-room coffee is typical hotel coffee. There are grab-and-go wraps, sandwiches and pastries in the coffee shop as well. There is a WALGREEN'S right next door to the hotel, also. Also if you are traveling for youth sports - the TAP WATER in the hotel is actually good. You can fill your water bottles there.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in the last 10 years. It is so run down, it cries for renovation. There are holes in the carpet (see pictures)!!! And I paid $400??? Unbelievable. Zero customer service. Rude management. I can’t wait to check out tomorrow morning. Oh, there was a hole in the bedding too (see picture). Did I mention the disgusting bath tub???? See picture. The mattress on the bed is made out of those springs that give you a trampoline feeling - it is the type of mattresses that were sold 20 years ago - not with individually wrapped springs, no, with super bouncy springs that just made my night a complete nightmare. And the bed squeaks every time one moves because the mattress has springs that are not individually wrapped but rub into one another and are made of metal - just like beds did 20 years ago. Unacceptable! On top, there was a strike by the employees of the hotel. They made loud noise starting at 7 AM. The hotel offered NO discount or any other service to appease the guests for having to listen to the noise nonstop. Unbearable. It gets worse! I spoke w one of the managers, John Hines, the morning after my stay. He was nice, offered to refund $150 off of my room charges. He gave me his business card. After 2 unanswered emails and 2 unreturned voice mails, he didn’t fulfill his promise. He added insult to injury.
