Beware: I bought an open box Samsung refrigerator that was delivered and installed at my house. The delivery/install person said the left door handlebar was the wrong one (the other 2 handlebars were installed OK) and said his boss will call me to have someone come and replace it. Someone did call - set up the apt. I later checked online and it was a wrong address so I called their 1800 number to fix. When I called, I was told that because this is an open box item and in "satisfaction" condition, that the handlebar will not be covered as it is considered an accessory and no further compensation will be given or a new part will be ordered. I told the agent that a handlebar is kind of REQUIRED for a door - how is this considered an "accessory?" The agent said the salesperson should of told me this and I told the agent that the salesperson said the handlebars will be installed upon delivery. The reason it was listed for a discount was for "dent/gouges." My only solution was to keep the fridge as is OR return the item. I told them that compensating me for another handlebar will be far less costly and less time wasting for both ends than it is for them to pick up this item and trying to sell it back with 2/3 handlebar attached - but agent refused as he said his supervisor has made the decision. This also includes them delivering the refrigerator only while 4 other appliances were missing (I had scheduled for all 5 to be delivered on the same day).
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Sorry but I will not be doing business here - deceptive practices and...
Read morePurchased an open box dryer and when I went to use it was making a god awful screeching noise as soon as I plugged it in to test it. I hope the matching washer lasts at least. Called customer service and they will be having someone exchange it for the difference in price of a brand new one. They won’t come to your house to exchange an open box for an open box product which is crazy to me considering it’s their mess up for clearly not inspecting their open box items. This dryer was also dirty, I get it’s going to have minor imperfections as it is an open box but this dryer had lint caked in the lint trap and had Bobby pins and hair inside the barrel portion. Idk who is inspecting the appliances here after returns for open box resale but this is unacceptable. Very disappointing, won’t be purchasing from this location again. I’m a college student. I don’t have funds like that, and to be driving all the way to Brockton and borrowing the proper vehicle to transport large appliances is extremely difficult and now I had to pay more money for a new item because you don’t exchange open box for open box. Thankfully I had a family member who could lend it to me. I can’t call the store to speak to anyone, all you get are customer service agents who literally told me “ I can’t even contact the store, I don’t work in store, I live in another country”. After the two year additional protection is up with my Best Buy total rewards I’m not sure Il be continuing with that either. Again, very...
Read moreI found an over-the-range-microwave on the website that was “satisfactory” condition, which states “minor noticeable cosmetic damage.” Ok fine we will go check it out. We go there and ask to open the box. Employee opens the box from the top (one staple needed to be removed) and we look and it looks perfectly fine. She said “I don’t think this was ever opened since I had to remove a staple.” So we said sure and bought it. We get home and I mount the mounting gear and I drill the new holes in the cabinet above. We take it out of the box to mount it and BAM the right side near the back was dented so bad that the back of the microwave was protruding out enough that the microwave literally wouldn’t be able to be mounted. So we brought it back to the store. It’s partially my fault for not pulling it out completely in the store but it’s also Best Buy’s fault for 1) marking that as “satisfactory” and 2) selling something that literally can not be used. Luckily we dont live far away but if this happened to someone who lived far away, Im sure they would be irate.
I dont know why they arent forced to explain the damage on the tag as to avoid this...
