Hate to be negative, but our first experience at this DQ since moving here was not impressive. There were maybe 8 employees there at around 7pm on a Wednesday. Most of them either didn’t seem to know what to do, or were just talking to other employees. Ice cream cones were sitting on the counter the entire time, starting to drip. Guy next to us waiting for his food probably watched his Blizzard sit there warming up for 5 minutes. This is ice cream, folks. There should be NO sitting on the counter. Not to mention which, the ice cream sat there in the open, no protection from anything floating in the air or flying by, and a front room employee kept picking up the blizzards and peering into them, then tilting toward the ice cream guy and asking what it is … tilt, look, tilt, look … all I could think is that these two people are not just breathing on the ice cream, but they are talking on it … droplets … just, EWWW! Our ice cream only sat there for 2-3 minutes, fortunately, because I was about to jump up and say, “Can we have our ice cream, please?!” Hate to say, but at the DQ we are used to, the food and ice cream go from the grill or ice cream machines into the cashier’s hands, and into the customers hands within 2...
Read moreTried to swing through the drive thru on Christmas eve. We were the last car in line pulling in seconds behind the car in front of us. Took at least 15 minutes to get to the order kiosk where we got zero attention or acknowledgment. Waited cause we could see that the couple cars before us were getting their orders but still nothing. So pulled forward and finally got the attention of an employee taking out trash. Explained the situation and were told they closed at 6, ok, but we commented it would have been nice if they'd said something over the speaker to which we were VERY rudely told there was a sign on the door. Really!? Cause you can see that from the drive thru, NOT! Totally understand that it was a holiday and closing early but do not understand the randomness of cutting it off the car before us since we distinctly saw a person look to see how many were in line and really don't understand the rudeness. My husband and I have been going to this DQ for many years but as far as he's concerned the treatment we got was uncalled for and he will not return. Customer service flop/fail...
Read moreThe Dairy Queen in Brookings, Oregon is easily the best fast food establishment in the whole wide town! Locally owned and operated, our DQ is staffed by friendly, local adult residents and high school students alike (always cool to see the youth supported in a small town). They offer fast and efficient service with a smile! And who doesn't love a Blizzard on a hot day (or any day, really)? My personal favorite is the Cotton Candy Blizzard. 🤤
I own and operate Hurry In Curry Delivery service here in Brookings. I love delivering from our local Dairy Queen because they have the absolute best fast-food drive-thru in Brookings (which is funny because it used to be the worst, but they upgraded to the super-deluxe version when they built the new DQ a few years back--happy delivery driver here). But if the drive-thru gets busy, their in-store service is always impeccable.
