There is A LOT to unpack here- (TLDR on the bottom)
I have been thinking about this practice a lot over the past few years just to make sure I was not overreacting.
The first few times I went here, the staff and doctors were kind and friendly. Towards the end of my time as a patient there, I felt that the doctors were either being careless, passive aggressive, purposely causing pain, possibly lying about xrays, and just being dismissive.
After I moved, I went to a different dentist and they were much more careful, kind, and understanding. I only came to the conclusion that Dentists of BP were what I listed when I took note of the difference in treatment:
first cleaning was uncomfortable but was on par to what I experienced before. Second cleaning was extremely painful. I felt and saw that the dentist was being extra hard on my gums and teeth. I even had to ask one of the assistants if the dentist was mad at me bc she was hurting me. After I mentioned it, the dentist restrained herself enough to finish the cleaning.
When I got my wisdom teeth removed, I requested to keep the teeth afterwards; they were discarded. From what I heard from two other practices, they let their patients keep their teeth after the procedure. They told me it was weird that they wouldn't let me keep my own teeth after the procedure.
I was only prescribed a dangerous amount of ibuprofen for the pain from the wisdom teeth extraction. When my sister got her wisdom teeth removed, she was prescribed proper pain medication and her recovery was much smoother than mine. I legitimately wanted to die so the pain would end.
I was charged for nausea medication I was not briefed on before the procedure and I still ended up vomiting from the anesthesia afterwards.
When I was shown xrays, I noticed when the dentists would point to where the cavity would be, some did not look like anything was there. I only say this bc I saw on the news that some dentists would point at a part of the tooth and just say there was something wrong but just ended up tricking the patients with their lack of knowledge of what they are looking at. There were definitely times when I could see the cavity and times when I didn't see anything but trusted the dentist on the matter.
Dentists of BP did not use the insurance I provided for them until I brought it up.
There was a cavity I could clearly see but was told there was nothing there. The new dentist told me that it use to be a cavity but it was healing itself so it was no longer a cavity. I don't know why dentists of bp couldn't explain it to me. It was very dismissive of my concerns.
TLDR: This practice may not treat you as terrible as they did to me. Just don't give them a reason to take their anger out on you. Don't let them be so dismissive of...
Read moreI have been coming to Dentists of BP for a few years and always had great experiences here. Unfortunately, today was not one of those experiences. For one, my dentist is no longer practicing here. However, the main reason I won’t be returning is because of the bitter assistant that had a very aggressive and unhappy disposition from the start of my visit when she started doing my x-rays. It was almost as if she was rushing/grumpy because it was the end of her day or maybe she just hates her job? Additionally, instead of cleaning my face with the napkin that generally is used for water splashes, etc, she used her gloved fingers to wipe my face. The one time she actually used the napkin to clean my face or mouth she was rough and aggressive. Overall, her body language, tone of voice, and inability to be kind and professional will definitely cause this dental office to start getting bad reviews. Very unhappy with the lack of professionalism this office showed today. I am thankful for the one kind staff member who went over coverage info at the end of my visit but will not be returning due to the poor service. Hope no one else has this experience moving forward.
Update: Went to La Habra Modern Dentistry and informed them of my worry about having gingivitis due to the diagnosis given by the doctor I went to at this location telling me I had it. The dentist at La Habra MD informed me I am no where near having gingivitis and that my gums are perfectly healthy. Be very careful...
Read moreThis is by far the WORST dentist i have ever been to. If i could just turn back the hands of time, i wish i never stepped foot here. came here for a simple teeth cleaning. Turned out i had a couple cavities and two root canals. My DDS here was Dr Christina Kim and specialist was Dr Shetty. BOTH my root canals turned into fractures, therefore i have to get both extracted and get implants. The cavities were even MORE painful after getting fillings here. Long story short, i came here with a problem, left with even more. It was my fault for not doing my research for the right dentist, especially for a root canal. In the end i just wasted thousands of dollars. The moment i went back to my old dentist, X-rays confirmed my new fillings causing pain, was WAY too close to the nerve. I had gotten a cleaning from Dentist of of Buena Park a month prior to visiting my old dentist, and was told the cleaning was probably done horribly because my gums should NOT bleed the way they should if i had gotten one. Btw EVERY TIME i got a filling done by Dr Kim, i had to come back due to increasing tooth ache and pain, she would either prescribe me antibiotics or readjust the bite. This happened MULTIPLE times here. NOT ONCE were my needs met. But every time i came here, my tooth problems got even worse! DO NOT come here. Do your research. Find a different dentist!!!! Save your time!!!Save...
