The food is great. The service is terrible. The menu is a hidden disaster waiting to trick you into spending much more than you would expect.
A few months ago I ate at this restaurant and met the new owner who seemed nice enough and informed us to return on a Friday when they have a full entertainment presentation (singing, belly dancer). I did and little did I know the entire experience would be different. [1] Firstly the menu had changed. Now meals come in "packages". The lowest is $35 per person. And you "must" order for at least 2 people! [2] They don't tell you that they automatically add an 18% gratuity to your meal. It is NOT on the menu, so you wouldn't know! [3] They charge you for water! I asked for water knowing th meal for 2 was going to be expensive. They brought bottled water and a glass. We asked for more water they brought each of us another bottle. Strange, I thought, but okay. Turns out that EACH BOTTLED WATER COSTS $2:50! [4] The service: Where to begin. The service female person was named Noor or Nora. Very rude lady probably in her twenties, who doesn't speak English clearly enough to understand. I don't know why she is employed there. She has no business dealing with customers. She never spoke to me, only to my friend, acting as if I wasn't there. When she brought the check out, I questioned her about the undisclosed water charge and undisclosed gratuity. She acted like I should have known better. Vomiting rude comments from her mouth like "Well, you should know because you've been here before" (when I came before, I was never charged for water not a gratuity). And "Well, if the water is making you mad, I can try and take it off". Those are the kind of comments she made when she finally spoke to me. I told her to speak to her manager to remove the water charge which they did (reducing the bill by more than $10). But when she returned with the bill she simply dropped it on the table.
The bill had the nerve to ask for a tip, so I wrote some of what I wrote here as the "tip", and promised to write this review on Yelp and on Google. So...
Read moreIf I could give this a 0 star I would. This place was the worst place I’ve ever been to. You are forced to pay $60 a person (nobody ever mentioned that to us upon entry) my 2 friends left right away when they found it was $60 for the food they bring out (..that they pick for you). It’s kind of ridiculous why youre forced to pay 60 per person for food when you’re not even hungry ( does not include the hookah or drinks) We let our server know before the food was brought out that they were leaving. Our server said no they are still getting charged because they sat down.. mind you they left after 5 min. The food on the other hand was terrible. For 60 a person you would think that the food and service would be great. But it was the complete contrary. We had a terrible server.. she was rude and looked like she was not wanting to be there. She kept rolling her eyes when we called her over to order a drink. We had to remind her about our drink every time. Our drinks took forever.. When the food was brought out it was already cold. The meat was dry and over cooked. The hummus really tasted like it was bought from the corner store. And the pita bread was hard. Overall the experience was terrible. The manager would not refund the 2 people that left right away when we first got there. We argued about it For 1/2 hr ..he finally said he would take the charge out for the 2 people that left but I am still waiting for my refund. Would not recommend anyone to come here. There are better Mediterranean restaurants out there.. don’t waste...
Read moreRead moreWent for my friend birthday celebration on a Saturday night. thought it would be fun,but it was a disaster. On the weekends they have a set meal package to choose from starting at $40, $50, and $60. They made a rule for kids each two kids will charge a minimum charge of what ever package we were forced to choose. I have said we were forced to choose cause we were party of 20 adults and 8 kids (24 adults charged) so for our table we had to choose one package for the whole table no options to choose different package, they made us change tables cause WE HAD KIDS, the kids were playing to tether which seems annoyed the waiters, they started talking to the kids without returning back to parents which forced us to talk to kids to sit not to move a muscle( they should have told us if they won’t allow kids instead of making us feel guilty)The appetizers were great, the main course was ok,no desert, on top of what was already so so expensive , they added a service charge of 18%, for the worst service. Bathrooms were also very filthy. So I guess we won’t be going back. Too bad with better service and no so over priced it could have been nice to redo. UPDATE—The restaurant just replied and mentioned that we should have a soft drink (WHICH WE DIDN’T GET) my issue was not the charge but you made us feel unwelcome. Good luck with...
