Mother Emanuel AME Church — Attraction in Charleston

The pastor made the choir sing like 8 or 9 songs while the pianist accompanied them. They did all the work while the pastor preached about 30 minutes. The singing was powerful and awe inspiring. The members were friendly. The pastor gave announcements yet neglected to acknowledge or ask if there were any visitors. After services ended, the pastor barely spoke to my 3 family members. The flow of the service wasted about 30 minutes and the pastor seemed to be 'taken...

We were visiting from TX and asked to enter. Due to covid-19 the church is closed for services. But the person inside the church was rude and didn't initially tell us that, we had to ring the 🔔 bell numerous times to recieve an answer. We understand why visitations aren't freely open to enter the sanctuary, but a kind answer would've been nice up front. Still the opportunity to see this place was an...

Lived in Charleston since 1985. Been here many times. My Italian father loved to worship here when he visited. And did it by himself. He loved it. They went thru you know what and refused to let hate come out of that. Certainly is a beacon of hope in days like this. And now we hear that Roof will receive $1,400.00 of taxpayers money...their money too, I'm sadden and ashamed of our government for doing...
