758 Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Charlotte Amalie

Upon entering they briefly check your bag/purse if you have one and they do a light frisk on you. Then going inside they have a DJ playing music super loud. We were greeted after a few minutes to take drink and appetizer orders. We waited a long time for the appetizer’s. The dinners was wait as well. I ordered the 758 burger that came with Swiss & cheddar ch but when served cheese was missing. I asked for the cheese to be put on and she took my plate then brought it back with cold cheese on it, I then asked if the cheese could be melted. So our waitress ran it back again and still only partly warm. I decided to just eat it that way. I was very disappointed with my burger the meat had no flavor it needed some seasoning on it for sure. The other meal was suppose to be shrimp sautéed in spinach with butter and garlic and parmesan. It doesn’t mention what it’s served with but came out as a pasta mixture and was absolutely horrible. I tasted it because Dean eats just about anything and couldn’t deal with the flavor. I personally didn’t taste any butter or garlic nor see spinach !!! Very disappointing . Technically, we should’ve returned it!! The other meal was a chicken wrap that Eddie seemed to enjoy. I ordered a strawberry Margarita and it was in a 6 ounce plastic cup. I rarely drink and to be honest I tasted no alcohol it was like a virgin Margarita. Someone recommended 758 mostly because it was in walking distance but I wish I read the reviews first to save a huge disappointment for our first night out for dinner here at VI !!!! Maybe it's my east coast radar to not be taken advantage of but I ordered a lemonade and noticed there was no price listed by the "juices" but didn't think anything of it. So this lemonade comes in a small glass like what you would serve whiskey in. It's very good and very small so I end up ordering 3. I also ordered conch fritters for $16. When I get the bill the 3 small lemonades with mostly ice comes to $18!! More than the food!! When I bring it to my server's attention she just apologize even though I pointed out there was no price on the menu so I thought it was the $2 same as the soda listed right above it. I feel like many places on this island take advantage of visitors this way. I understand that tourism is the Islands only economy but these tactics make it a 1 and done destination spot for me. I wouldn't return to this island and honestly there are a lot nicer beaches like Hawaii and even Miami to visit. My hotel suggested this restaurant nearby but this area looks poor n run down almost like Haiti. The locals have this kind of "fake pleasantness" to them as if to say "if not for your money I would not even say hello to you". Our family has been in the Virgin Islands for the past week, we’ve had amazing food, drinks, etc. until today. 758 Bar & Restaurant was the “worst” experience we’ve encountered in Virgin Island. First, they seem to be more bar than restaurant. The people sitting at the bar were lively, and truly enjoying themselves in the middle of the day. Our server was slow as heck. Attention to detail was not high on his priority list since we had to tell him things multiple times. Our family of four order two orders of chicken tenders and two loaded panini sandwiches. This crap finally came out after 15-20 minutes of waiting, not to mention our family and another couple were the only ones eating. Food comes out and is the worst looking and tasting mess.
