SERV (The Launchpad) Locs and Natural Hair Salon — Attraction in Charlotte

I believe I been going to Jasmine for a little over a year now. I was referred to her, and in the beginning I didn’t have no issues. She would make comments about my hair being thick and having a lot. As I explained to her I’ve heard this all my life and didn’t take it offensive. However fast forward to the last 4 months, I notice when I get my reties, I didn’t feel I got one. My hair was very frizzy and hair was not loc neatly. I brought this up to her, she stated with me working out more, sweating some people hair can do that but she will retie my new grow and hair that’s growing outside my loc back into the loc. I trusted her, I never missed 1 appt, always paid whatever price she put on the screen. I still felt not happy with how my hair was looking and I got a second review of my hair, I’m so disappointed to even have to share this but this lady could have just said I no longer want to do your hair and I would respect her a lot more than I do now. I paid her my money and I got video of the back and middle part of my hair where she was not completing the retie. My hair was knotted and it’s only been 5 weeks since my last appt. I had to pay extra for her mess up. I have lost all respect and if she got to make money being dishonest and sleep knowing she took people money and didn’t provide the service I will stay far away. To label this person as a salon manager is so embarrassing. The videos I have of what this lady done to my hair and y’all training new stylist under her at this new salon is not a good management decision. This is my option only. If a client hair is too thick or take too much time to do, decline the client don’t take their money and cause such a problem for the client and the well being for their hair. Instead of training the new people take this person back thru training because she lack customer service...

Yesterday I ended my 12 year traditional loc journey to begin my microloc journey. I was very nervous about my decision because of a diagnosis of CCCA alopecia and my hair being very fine. I also needed to start with an extension for coverage purposes. The ladies at SERV insured my process from consultation to finished style was ease, comfort and enjoyment. I was provided education on the process, continually informed and I feel confident that I made the right decision. Tika is a doll and her attention to detail and how she took the time to insure that I worked with the right loctician was so appreciated. Angel my loctician was amazing. She was gentle but made sure everything was right and overcame every challenge presented with my difficult hair situation quickly. The atmosphere was light-hearted and fun, full of laughs. I brought 2 books to read but never got to open one because of all the conversation happening in the salon. Connie started my sisterlocks on day one with a dedicated five-hour session, and on day two, TIKA and I went from 6:30 AM to midnight—her dedication and skill are unmatched! I am beyond in love with my hair and excited for this journey. Connie was also AMAZING—her personality and knowledge are just as wonderful as TIKA’s. These two are truly sisters in every sense, creating a supportive and empowering network.
