BUYER BEWARE!!! SHOP AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE!!
In the beginning of December I went to this store to build a desktop. I was met by the owner of the store and asked him if he could help me out with this. He told me it would be cheaper to buy a prebuilt and he showed me what he had on display. I decided to take his word and purchase one of his desktops. He set me up with the a unit, monitor, mouse and keyboard.
That day I took it back home and set up the whole thing up. Not long after setting up, the monitor started to glitch and the screen turned black. After weekend, I found out the monitor was busted, I went back to the store to show it to him. He saw that it was non-functional and exchanged the monitor "out of courtesy." Obviously the owner should do that given on the account that he sold me a broken monitor.
Two weeks pass by and on Christmas weekend, The desktop crashed unexpectedly and did this repeatedly. I did all I could at the time to fix by doing fresh installs and reseating the graphics card and RAM sticks. I had no luck.
I brought the desktop back and showed the problem to one of the techs and he didn't know what was the cause of the issue. Due to the holidays, they weren't able to service me. So the next day I went to Best Buy to have Geek Squad to check it out. They did everything they could to troubleshoot the crashing and the random reboots with swapping out individual components, but to no avail. Once the week started up I had took some time off work to go the following Tuesday they were open and showed the owner what was wrong. I mentioned bringing it to Geek Squad which he angrily did not approve and told me doing that would void warranty with this shop.
At this point I did not care about the paperwork and just wanted to get the desktop fixed. He did service in to check it "out of courtesy" but he said it would take a few days to test out the hardware. During the week, I waited and called a few times a day to ask about the status of my desktop and they concluded that it was the hard drive. They swapped it out and didn't charge me again "out of courtesy" because they were being nice. I picked it up that morning after and used it with no problem, until the night when it started doing the same thing before I serviced it. I brought it back AGAIN the next day and showed it to the owner.
I told him it was a hardware problem, but the owner got defensive and gaslighted me telling me that I installed software improperly because they troubleshooted everything on that desktop. He went on to lecture me on how he has been in business for 30 years and has never gotten a problem like this, all the while blaming me for my usage. He offered me one more "courtesy" to reinstall the software to "fix the problem." By this time I was fed up with his business and went back home to troubleshoot it myself.
I tested litterally everything on that desktop by switching out the gpu, memtesting the RAM. and by Sunday morning I found out that there problems with the CPU using a troubleshooting software; this was the component that ASN and Geek Squad failed to troubleshoot. I decided to go to Best Buy and order a new CPU. Once I installed it, Everything started to work as normal.
Please, if you intend to do business with ASN, do it with caution as the owner will sell you products that will break down on you. I wasted one weekend with a broken monitor and two weekends trying to get the desktop crashing solved. I don't plan on ever coming back here. You're better off going to Best Buy or Microcenter because their stuff actually works.
And Salman if you want to keep in business, don't fight with your customers saying they are the problem just because you have 30+ years of tech sales experience on your belt. I appreciate the "courtesies," but it would've been better if you checked if your products worked correctly before selling them; also it would be nice for you to treat your customers like adults and not like a kid that didn't know what he was doing even though he majored in computer engineering.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted a high-end laptop to use while traveling and have had good luck with Dell products, both new and refurbished. ASN Depot had exactly what I wanted in a refurbished unit and offered some upgrade options. I contacted them several times with questions and their responses were always very prompt and courteous, even for dumb questions (I'd missed the answer in the description.) When I got the laptop, it was perfect -- looked brand new and had exactly the upgrades I'd ordered. Except for one thing: I'd requested Windows 7 to be installed, and it came with Windows 8.1. An easy thing to overlook, as it had been early in our email chain when I had requested that. This sort of thing has happened to me a number of times, and while not ideal, I can see how it could easily happen in our fast-paced society. As long as they make it right and time isn't an issue, I'm OK with it. I contacted them and offered to install it myself if they'd send me the software. Understandably, they preferred to do it themselves to make sure it was done right, so paid for shipping both ways. I got to thinking, I want to install Linux on this machine, maybe they'd be willing to make a couple of changes to make that process easier! And they did: Guys, can you set up the BIOS to use legacy booting instead of UEFI? Sure, no problem. How about repartitioning the boot drive to only use half of it for Windows 7, so I don't have to shrink the partition later? No problem. How about turning off any fast boot options to avoid possible problems when shutting down Windows, booting Linux, making changes, then rebooting Windows? Done. They called me when they were doing those changes to verify that they did exactly what I wanted, and they did. Exactly. Excellent customer service, and always courteous. I'm a happy camper, the system is awesome, and I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to order...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely write a review and it is usually for service above and beyond. Unfortunately, this organization did absolutely nothing to deserve praise and anyone purchasing from them should be wary.
Right before Halloween, I ordered a refurbished laptop from this company. It was delivered within 5 days and everything looked clean. I plugged in and charged the battery and the laptop fired right up. Then the problems started. There was no boot record for Windows10 so I called the store to see what we could do to resolve the issue. They were extremely helpful and got me the patch I needed to reboot and reinstall Windows to this laptop. Despite downloading the patch, when trying to install this fix we discovered the hard drive was bad.
Now, I understand that hard drives can go bad almost instantly and was not upset this had happend. Had ASN Depot decided to send me a shipping label and facilitated the return like most every other comapny I have delt with, no harm/no foul. Instead they first suggested I replace the hard drive on the laptop my self. That wasn't going to happen. Then since I purchased this through Walmart Marketplace, they suggested I have Walmart facilitate the return because it is thier policy to not send shipping label when the products they sell become defective. I was given a very smarmy and condecending tone when told about this no return label policy.
Unfortunately for ASN Depot, Walmart was unable to facilitate the return. I then called them back and received the same smarmy, condecending tone when I asked them to just provide the return shipping for their defective product.
Again, I could understand ASN Depot not warrantying a 90+ day purchase but 1 day after receiving the product- Do better ASN Depot.
I recommend no one do business with these "professionals" nor purchase their products or services, you will be completely...
