This gym is just alright. It’s so busy most of the time it’s hard to get on some machines and the team members do not manage people’s time on machines. The mask mandate is not enforced at all. It’s one thing to be on your own machine wo a mask but people walk all over the gym, from machine to machine, wo a mask. On the cable machines there isn’t social “fitnessing” due to how the machine is set up and still masks aren’t worn. I wear a mask at all times during my workout and the mandate needs to be enforced. I have even had another person come up to me and ask to use the machine right next to me (less than a ft away) and I said no we are social distancing (she also didn’t have a mask on) and she used it anyway. There is no enforcement of any covid regulations at all. I gave three stars bc the staff does keep it pretty clean. I see them vacuuming all the time and they refill the towels and cleaner multiple times an hour. I do like that smoothie king is right next door but since they are working together and that smoothie king is advertised throughout the gym you’d think the smoothie king would be run better. Overall this gym is just okay. You spend a lot of time waiting on equipment to open up and it’s NOT covid friendly but if that doesn’t bother you then it’s nice enough.
Also by restricting hours you force everyone to go around the same time bc those of us who would go late night no longer can forcing more people in the building at the same time. W more people and no masks this place is just festering w covid. I see a lot of the workers just standing around the front, why aren’t they out enforcing the mask mandate?
Edit to add again that the workers don’t manage people’s time on machines. A girl just yesterday was on a stairstepper for TWO hours while people were standing behind the machines waiting to get on. The workers do not kick people off machines. The same goes for the barbells. A single person will have up to three or four different sets of weights at once and others have to wait just to get one set bc several people have multiple sets of barbells. Why aren’t the workers out enforcing the rules? I spend more time waiting on machines/weights than actually working out bc they do not monitor at all. I have taken off another star bc I shouldn’t have to tell the 5+ workers at the front to monitor when it’s part...
Read moreI forgot my water bottle at home, when I arrived I was greeted by Stephen. I felt he was annoyed with me immediately (bummer). After the first attempt of paying he said my card declined but I told him it said approved, I felt like he was annoyed with me the entirety of the transaction. I told him that I think he charged me twice and the way he responded was not friendly. I went upstairs to meet my friend and then I saw I was charged double. I felt compelled to go downstairs and call him out. He was absolutely gaslighting me. The other two employees seemed to side with him bc I’m sure they were intimidated by the situation. As I was leaving he said have a nice day…so naturally I stuck up for myself. I walked up and politely said “you could have been a little friendlier earlier.. and then he did some more gaslighting, blew up in my face and loudly, banned me. I’ve been going to planet fitness for years. I am baffled by this. I could not drive myself home because I was really shocked and disheartened by this whole thing. I called to get the managers name and number and the girl that answered which was Natalia, gave me a hard time and would not give me the managers name. Instead, She said I was the problem and continued to argue with me and said that she “witnessed” the whole thing and that the manager was already notified that I was “banned” I hung up and here I am. I just wanted to let somebody know that this whole thing started with a guy accusing me of having an “attitude” when clearly he was just being misogynistic, wanting to abuse a woman that forgot her water bottle. I never yelled, didn’t curse, was not verbally abusive in any way. He was mad that I was calling him out on his behaviour. So his ego got in the way. And as for the other team members, lack of integrity....
Read morethe gym was large, lots of variety for the machines, but the reason i am giving a one star is because they allow a woman to bring a backpack with THREE dogs crammed in it into the gym. today was my first time ever visiting this location, and as i was wrapping up my workout i noticed a woman with a backpack that had a dog in it. i respectfully went to the desk and voiced my concerns that the dog looked uncomfortable and as though it was panting. they informed me that it was not one dog, but THREE, and that she has emotional support animal paperwork so there is nothing they can do, despite the fact that they regularly receive complaints about this woman. ESAs do not have “paperwork” (they get letters from actual doctors), and even if they did, ESAs are for housing and airplane travel, NOT a license to take animals into stores, restaurants, gyms, etc. i work in a hotel and we don’t even accept ESA letters. the fact that they allow this woman to mistreat her animals by having them crammed into a small backpack while she does a workout is insanity, let alone the risk to other patrons if said dogs were to get out of the backpack. please train your staff on the regulations and laws regarding SERVICE animals for physical disabilities vs emotional support animals. you will not get sued for standing your ground that a gym is no place for an emotional support animal. i will absolutely be calling corporate about this when they open on monday, please do what is RIGHT and make her keep the...
