Although this aging Inn is showing some wear and tear, this small hotel offers great charm and it is conveniently located. We chose the cottage, which took a minute to find on the small property due to a lack of signage. Thankfully the helpful staff showed us where to go. The room we had was spacious. There was a very comfortable porch to sit on and watch the traffic go by or read a book. It was a rather large porch with two comfortable chairs and a table as well as a sweet loveseat. The large bedroom had a king sized bed that was not very comfortable but the room temperate was great (there was central air conditioning). There were plenty of pillows available, a very old rocker and a small TV. The living room had a very old chair which I assume goes with the antique desk. There was a very old and uncomfortable sofa. For laughter there is cable on the 17 inch (maybe) television. There’s a small franklin stove and a very small dorm refrigerator. There is a sink with a coffee pot but no microwave. There was an ice bucket but we did not see an ice machine in our small cottage building. The bathroom was full of character complete with a landline telephone next to the toilet- how’s that for luxury (note the sarcasm folks). There was a large shower that had very nice water jets for a little back massage. The hot water was plentiful. The shampoo and conditioner had a pleasant smell. The sink in the bathroom was chest high which made us laugh. Many of the switches did not work but only added to the charm and adventure. The jetted tub, although old, was large. It takes a while to fill and the button got stuck a few times, but it offered a relaxing soak. It’s was a very spacious and clean room. They offer breakfast for $10, which you serve yourself. The menu changes daily and it’s listed on a sign board at check in. On our visit there was scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh fruit, assorted bagels, toast and English muffins. There was cereal and yogurt, as well as coffee. At one point they brought out fresh pastries that were still warm as well as a coffee cake. The breakfast room is very charming. If you are looking for a place with character I would recommend you stay here. Yes, there are lots of chain options available in Saratoga, but this place has character and a pleasant and attentive staff. Upon check out we were given a little suitcase of fudge to take with us. That was a lovely...

On the pros side, the hotel is very cute - we liked the decor and found the room to be clean. Also we liked the breakfast that they had and appreciated the selection and food.

On the cons side, they had a wedding going on that day. Aparently, the reception started around 9 PM. We were on the THIRD floor up and our room was shaking. I would have assumed if music was going to be playing at that level they would have had some sort of soundproof enclosure? RIght? Nope. They had a tent. That was the only thing that was seperting 2000 amps of sound from the hotel guests. If you enjoy having your child go to bed while hearing "APPLE BOTTOM JEANS, BOOTS WITH THE FURRRRR," until 11 PM after traveling all day and the bass shaking your room, you may be more pleased than we were.

I understand that they have weddings but either have a structure so that the sound is not audible to the guests at that volume and maybe, let guests know when they check in so they arent surprised when 9 PM rolls around and they think a pop up nightclub opened up in back of the hotel.

Secondly, we had problems with the heat. I turned it on to 70. We woke up to a room that was 89 degrees (oh, that is when we finally got to sleep after the music died down). It was impossible to regulate. We turned it off only to wake up again to a freezing room. I put it back on low and it was a furnace. Clearly something was broken but at 2 AM this is not something I should have been dealing with.

Lastly we had an issue when checking in - partly this was to blame on the inconsiderate guests in front of us but when we pulled into the enterence there was only valet parking (due to the wedding) and the car in front of us hadnt figured out what 2 lanes of traffic looks like so they pulled directly in the middle of the road and (no joke) took 15 minutes fooling around and unloading their car while our car and another was waiting. The valet should have suggested they move their car or done something. It was pretty obnoxious.

We will not be staying here again. We came here to sleep (silly us!) after a long day of travel and should not have had...

We've stayed at The Inn at Saratoga twice and were completely satisfied each time. Check in (by real human beings!) was easy, and information was provided to us by staff at that time about the morning breakfast buffets, bar hours, etc. There was a nice bowl of homemade mints at the desk that were delicious! (And they still provide REAL room keys!) ||We stayed two nights in a very large, carpeted room that had two comfortable double (Victorian) beds, large windows, a desk, and a sitting area with two leather club chairs. The bathroom fixtures, etc. are a little outdated, but clean. ||In the morning, the $10 each breakfast buffet in the charming downstairs dining area (complete with Victorian furniture, books, and a fireplace) included eggs, sausages, bacon, pancakes, yogurt, pastries, bagels, cereal, coffee, tea, and juice. Everything you might want. In the evenings there's a delightful, cozy bar, also downstairs, where live music was being played when we returned from our night out. ||The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the downtown Saratoga strip, and close to the racetrack, spas, park, etc.||What this hotel is is "homey" and comfortable. There's a chill, friendly vibe here. There was a wedding party there the weekend we stayed and you would never have known it. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally. This is not a super "fancy" place ... it's a little bit shabby chic in a way that makes it absolutely charming. Someday I'd like to splurge and stay at the Uber-expensive Adelphi up the street, but for now, the Inn at Saratoga is a great little home away from home. Don't...

The Inn has a great location in the heart of Saratoga, only a very short walk to the shops and restaurants. Parking is uncovered in the alley adjacent to the hotel. The Inn has been operating since the 1800's and if you're looking for that type of ambience, great pick. If you prefer something more modern with lots of staff, valet parking, etc. maybe not. My room had a little entryway with a desk and then the bedroom had a high four poster (with stool to get up) and two chairs. Small adequate closet, no door. Two large windows overlooking the parking alley - if your room feels chilly, move the heavy curtains away from the heat ducts. Cable tv and wifi. Bathroom had basic necessities and a window but very limited counterspace and lighting for makeup. I thought the hallway looked like something from The Shinning but it added to the "charm". The dining room with its beautiful decor is the highlight of the hotel. I chose to eat in the adjoining bar area where there is live music several nights a week. The food was okay but definitely could have been elevated given the cost. Service by the bartender was excellent. If the weather is nice, I would suggest checking out some other dining options. Front desk staff, oddly enough, was the same individual literally morning, noon and night. Overall a good stay.
