I dined here Saturday night with my husband and mother. We have been here several times before and everything was always perfect the service and the food. We had an appetizer eggplant rollatini which was delicious. My mom ordered chicken bruschetta which was enormous size and it was very good and my husband ordered shrimp fra Diablo with extra shrimp and that also was enough for two and was very good. I ordered chicken Sorrentino which I have had before and I was in shock when they put the plate down in front of me. It was served on a little square dish like a side dish and it looked like either an appetizer or child's portion. It was nothing like the menu said. It was supposed to be a chicken breast with fried eggplant shallots garlic Marsala wine. I had three little tiny pieces of chicken tender and if there were two tiny slices of eggplant wirh mozzarella cheese. My mom also had chicken she had two huge pieces of chicken and what I had was unacceptable. I asked our server if there was some mistake and if it was an appetizer of some kind and he said he wasn't the chef and he didn't know. At this point no manager came over and I was highly disappointed after being there quite a few times with excellent service and wonderful food. I don't know whether someone new took over or what so we will never go back...
Read moreThree Vines Bristo offers a good variety of Italian dishes to choose from. They have very friendly staff and it was easy to be seated even as walk in customers. My only complaint with the restaurant is that my Penne Alfredo dish was served to me on the hotter side of things, but I believe this was the case in order to melt the cheese in the right way as I could taste the variety of flavors it was bringing to the dish. The bacon was cut very thinly which is good, but I didn’t taste its presence in the dish. The green peas, however, did have a high quality fresh taste and added significant flavor to my Penne Alfredo dish. As an additional part of this review, I’ve attached photos of the dishes that were also ordered during this visit: Penne with “Meetballs” and Bruschetta which both tasted good, but they did not reach the quality I’ve experienced at other Italian restaurants. The Three Vines Bistro is an excellent Italian restaurant to visit. I know many people who would be absolutely satisfied from this experience. I’m a harder customer to satisfy and I acknowledge that so if you are in the area and are wanting some Italian food, the Three Vines Bistro is an excellent place...
Read moreHeard good things about the food so had dinner brfore attending orchestra at SPAC. Fried mozzarella rounds (3 of them) with a tasty breading and gooey mozzarella were very good. The romaine salad had a nice, light dressing and was large enough for 2 to share. Enjoyed it. However, after that things went downhill with the entrees.
My wife's carbonara came with spaghetti noodles instead of the menu promise of papardelle. The sauce had very little flavor and needed salt. The panchetta was sparse and had little if any affect on flavor of the dish.
Granddaughter's spaghetti and meatballs, the menu says it comes with penne, the waiter had to get permission from the kitchen to change the pasta to spaghetti. The tomato sauce was very bland although the 2 meatballs were very good.
My bolognese with linguine (had to get kitchen approval for the menu change from rigatoni) had plenty of meat and was overall, okay. The noodles were cooked al dente which I love.
3 kinds of good wine for $7 a glass was nice and appreciated. Good atmosphere and...
