The beach was legendary and so well-known to not only American people but foreigners. It is absolutely one of the best beaches in the U.S. The water is clear, of course, as indicated by its famous name. The sand was soft, smooth, and bright. I really like the atmosphere here, surrounding with many people from all over the country. But somehow it was a way too crowd, so that not an ideal place for relaxation.

The wave is not ideal for surfing, though, it was great for sea bathing and aquatic sports. The water was crystal clear and pure. There was nightly sunset celebration open all year round features artisans, crafters, street performers, along with many shops on the Pier. It was perfect watching sun set below the horizon with one another on the Pier.

However, the parking situation was terrible, out-of-control. To get a parking spot next to the Pier 60 is like to go to a battle, you saw, you ran, you must run faster, you might be still slower than someone else, and you kept spending time finding somewhere else. I always had to drive up North as there were many vacant parking spots, yet it required 15 minutes walking back...

Its a 1000 plus foot fishing pier with a bait house, telescopes and awesome viewing decks. Buy a dollar, catch a sunset and have a good time! Beach was very clean, there are close-by restaurants, bars and shopping places. Also, at the beach there are many live shows to experience. There are always lots of Pelican, seagulls and other birds to see. I was not lucky enough to spot a dolphin though. There are many gorgeous gift shops where you can buy artefacts and jewelleries made from shells, pearls, sea glass, etc. Be prepared to navigate the crowd a bit as this place gets busy during the sunset time. Just relax, click some pictures, do some people watch, enjoy the abundant sunshine and call it a day with some great...

The beach near Pier 60 in Clearwater is very nice, but in my opinion way too crowded, especially during the peak times. This can really make for an unpleasant experience.

Too many times I have had issues with blaring inappropriate music, as well as frisbees and footballs hitting me while I am trying to relax.

During the non peak times, this beach is rather enjoyable with nice white sand and the warm gulf waters. There are plenty of places to eat in the area, and plenty of places to find both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.

All in all I try to avoid coming here due to the crowds...

Looked this place up on the way to St.Pete and decided to drop in. Only $1 to go out and view a beautiful sunset. Fishermen out there until sunset so I wouldn't really considerate it romantic or a quiet spot to gaze upon it though. Pelicans and seagulls flock there as well. The boardwalk leading up to it as great as well, they have vendors that are selling really cool handmand artist crafts, I wish I was rich to buy something off of everyone's table. Super friendly people. Night "shows" as well from magicians/comedic folks as well. Recommend paying a visit to this spot.

Can’t beat a sunset on a beach. The sand is clean and fluffy, it wasn’t too too congested- especially the further north you go, the pier has vendors, street performers, and fishing access, and there are restaurants and shops up the nearby downtown strip. I think as far as Florida beaches go, you could find better quality water and waves as every time we went was warm, shallow, murky water. Still a beach nonetheless with more than plenty to do or just the ability to relax. Worth a trip! Next time we plan on heading up further north to kayak the smaller islands!
