What a GREAT experience; once we finally found a parking space atleast. There is a public parking lot but it took us literally 30 min to find a spot. (Nearby there is a parking garage but it's $30.) Admission to the pier area is free but I think it's $1 to go all the way to the end. (We didn't get that far before they were closing up.) We got there at around 8pm on a Thursday night. I definitely recommend going sooner because we didn't have time to see and do everything. The vendors and entertainers are there about 6pm-10pm. There were entertainers-an arial act, fire juggler and a live spray paint art show. Bungee trampoline jumping ($17 for 5 min), inflatables ($35 unlimited wristband or about 5 tickets for $12) and a water "hamster ball" ($17 per person, 2 people for $27). My kids did the bungees and said "it was pretty fun". The huge inflatable slide closes at sunset so they didn't get to try it, but there were other inflatables still open. There were also henna tattos and hair braiding/threading. Very unique art pieces for sale by local vendors at fairly reasonable prices. Pictured are a resin tigers eye ashtray ($25), a wood turn table with resin art ($50) a small cutting board with resin art ($10) and a resin art tray ($70). Many other items at much lower prices too- jewelry $5+, shell lamps $10-$70, original art $10+, air plants $12-$35, plus so much more. Most if not all vendors accept credit/debit cards. Also artists doing caricatures and portraits. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and we plan on going back...
Read moreI like that they have "street entertainment" and for being a tourism beach the prices are reasonable aside from PARKING which is high and very limited! If you're not staying at a local beach room it's hard you have to arrive very EARLY in the spring & summer months for sure and plan to pay about $50+ for the days parking even with a room the hotels still charge per car per day approx $25. I think that's HORRIBLE! TACO Bus is a short walk and it's a good Taco Bus with $5 slushy type margarita's :). All walks of life from families, to single high school teen dates. Where the plump and thin, young and old wear "cheeky" swimsuits lol they have blow up water slides for kids pretty pricey in my opinion like $17 for 5 mins on the high jump trampoline where you're strapped with rubber bungies, or 20 bucks to go into what likes a hamster ball with water jets spraying they say feels its like a 2 mile waterslides or you can buy a day pass for 80 bucks a person!! Which in my opinion is not worth it. The pier was full of craft vendors and It was just very crowded period. The beach area (sand) is an extra wide one you can easily find a spot maybe not as close to shoreline as you like unless you get there early. It's FLORIDA and one of the popular vacation beaches on the west side of state; the "bay" Gulf side. The water is nice and a little warm in the summer, It won't cool you but it...
Read moreI have been to some beaches in my lifetime Texas a few times on either side but Pier 60 takes the Cake on this!!! My first time ever visiting Florida and this beach and pier is absolutely breathtaking and sensational!!! Made me want to move there!!! One of the most beautiful sand and clear water I have ever seen!!! It's so big and can hold many people that want to enjoy the ocean!!! The sand is so soft even when you begin to go into the ocean where you see tons of different sizes of sea shells!!! The waves get huge and that makes for a fun time for swimming in the ocean!!! Great areas along the ocean of the beach to layout and catch some rays along with where kids can play in the sand!!! Also the Pier goes out so far into the ocean so you can see even more of it!!! Which was so wonderful cuz it was the first time the little one had seen it!!! They have a great place to go get drinks while you can catch some shade and eat!!! Along get a locker to put your stuff in while you enjoy the ocean and Pier!!! No wonder why this place was voted the number one beach in America cuz it lives up to it's name and reputation!!! Will be coming...
