We have been receiving regular emails from Eclectiques Antique Mall since before and after they first opened. We live an hour North of Columbus and go antiquing all over Ohio. We are not dealers, yet spend $2-4,000.00 per month looking for items that we collect. On Saturday July 2, 2022 we decided to try this new antique mall, as you never know what may be found. Parking in the area of the mall was horrible. When we finally found a nearby street spot on otherwise crowded streets, Tracy who worked there said we should try the abandoned bank next door to park. What she didn’t say was that ALL entrances to the bank had CHAIN LINK FENCES barring any entrance to park. The first person to greet us was Blaise, who was cordial. He said the owner was the Daughter of Vivalyn Knight whose husband used to own Heart of Ohio Antique Mall before his passing. That ownership gave credence to the place that maybe we could find some quality antiques like we do at Heart of Ohio regularly. After about 30 minutes, we completed going through the entire shop and saw VERY FEW antiques of the quality and value we collect. I asked Tracy, apparently the manager or possibly the owner to assist us in making an offer on what appeared to be a historical document. After another 15 minutes passed, and Tracy had not heard back from the owner of the document, I left my cell number for Tracy to call me back with the counter offer as we were headed to the Grandview Antique Mall. Tracy NEVER did call me. That next day I called the phone number listed on their web site and the recording said the number could “not make outgoing calls”. In other words, the WRONG PHONE NUMBER was posted on their web site. I proceeded to look up my email from Eclectiques Antique Mall and emailed Tracy to the email address on my email(which is the SAME ONE posted on their web site) and NO REPLY BACK. After a week, on Monday 7/11/22 I went back to their web site, and upon further delving in I found another phone number listed for JOB SEEKERS. I called that number, and reached Blaise. I explained what happened and he said the item could not be found and had likely been SOLD out from under me. He said he would ask Tracy about it and what happened, and said he would call back and took my cell number AGAIN. No call back. No email back. NUTTIN. If this is the way this business is run, then STAY AWAY !!! We will NEVER GO BACK there again. We’ll see how long they stay in business...
Read moreI came here with my husband and daughter - I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews that the place was no longer cool and way overpriced. I am a huge thrift shop junkie, and visit thrift shops every single weekend. This is not a place where there’s going to be a bin of random junk to sort through that’s all under $10. But it is also not flower child where every single item is completely out of price range. I would say it’s somewhere in between the two. This place is filled with curiosities and eclectic items in a way that looks like basically every must have item you’ve ever found in a thrift store but all in one place. If nothing else is just extremely interesting to look around at all of the interesting things, and while it looks small when you first go in, it’s kind of a labyrinth throughout the whole place. There’s a lot of interesting items, and I managed to buy multiple things without breaking the bank. I would not go into this place as though it’s a cheap thrift shop, but I also wouldn’t go into it thinking it’s an extremely expensive and not cool place. I never went before when it was different management as some reviews have suggested. Both the people interacted with were extremely kind and nice. The place was very cozy and easy to navigate and it was very clean. It was obvious that it was very curated and there was really cool things kind of everywhere. Both my husband and I enjoyed walking around for about an hour or so and felt like we still didn’t see everything. If you’re someone that’s a collector, it’s a...
Read moreThe store looks amazing after the remodel, but now most of the pieces are out of my price range! Which is sad because I've bought many great items over the years here. If you're looking for a high-end, curated shopping experience and you don't mind prices that reflect that, then this is the place for you! Everything is beautifully displayed and labeled! There are great items in every section that clearly stand out.
If you're looking for a treasure hunt and a good deal this is probably not the place. Before the remodel there were definitely expensive items, but there was also a variety of bargains/good deals/diamonds in the rough you could dig for.
I'm sure I'll be back to browse, get inspiration, and hopefully make a small purchase every now and again! It makes sense that this kind of change would happen with the changing landscape of Columbus, inflation, and a new owner going in a bit of a new direction. I hope the right customers find Eclectiques and that it will continue to do business in...
