(I've never been to this Macy's before, my go-to is King of Prussia.) But I found myself in Delaware and I had a pressing need for shoes to match a specific suit. The saleswoman in the shoe department could not have been better! Admittedly, whileI was a very friendly customer, I was unfortunately a difficult one, because not only did the shoes I needed have to match a unique suit, and tote bag, but I am also 5'10" and therefore heel height was an issue (normally I strut 3" heels with pride, but for this event, modesty was a must!)
I received undivided attention from the woman who helped me. She went so far as to take potential pairs of shoes to the Michael Kors Department and match them against the tote bag I would be using. Every pair of shoes in which I was interested, she looked up online to determine the heel height. And, something I really appreciated, she did her best to sell me the least expensive option ( even though she was working for commission.) It was blatant that this dedicated Macy's employee cared about me and meeting my needs, not just trying to make a quick sale and high commission.
Thank you so much!!!
Note: I asked her to write her name down for me so I could contact management and express my gratitude. However, when I got home, that piece of paper was not in the shopping bag. I understand that these ratings do you get passed on to store managers, so I hope that I can give you enough information to commend your exceptional employee: •date: Monday, June 25th •locationv Macy's in Concord Mall, Wilmington Delaware •time: in the early afternoon. •saleswoman: middle-aged African-American woman, medium build, probably in her 40s...
Read moreThis place has fallen. Although, its nothing like Christiana Mall, the Concord Mall once was an active place (late 90s and 2000s). Now, it's almost empty (shoppers and stores) and will become a "ghost town" if the remaining two flagship stores (Boscovs and Macys) decide to close these locations. Apparently, a lot of reviews have the same opinion. To me, when I last visited the Concord Mall, it felt like a step-up from a farmers market. I was shocked and saddened by the experience. I thought to myself, this can't be the concord mall I remembered. The owners / management need to come up with a strategy for the future (expansion, remodeling, etc.)....something needs to happen to attract shoppers and businesses. I get it, malls are struggling nationwide, but the successful ones adapted. Location is everything, and the concord mall is in a prime / great location. The current vision and strategy needs changing. The concord mall has lots of potential. Not all malls...
Read moreOh man, the Concord Mall isn't what it used to be. It's like a couple of empty storefronts away from being a ghost town. It's sad, honestly, seeing half of the shops shuttered or worse, out of business.
The remaining shops? Super random. Like, there's a penny candy store, a beauty supply shop, and even have an office for the Mall itself (which is pretty telling if you ask me).
The food court hasn't grown any bigger, but at least it wasn't crowded. That's the silver lining I guess, you can shop in peace because it's extremely quiet. The big stores like Boscovs and Macys are still around and you still get a lunch rush at the food court, but without those, it would look like the Blue Hen Mall in Dover.
I'll probably visit again because it's chill and a nice change of pace from the chaos at Christiana, but honestly, in terms of shops, it doesn't...
